SMPs in TK: Standards for Mathematical Practice in Transitional Kindergarten

Transitional kindergarten teacher, Heidi Weidner, demonstrates how she integrates the Standards for Mathematical Practices (SMPs) into her math activities. In the demonstration, the SMPs are highlighted as these young learners simultaneously develop literacy skills and learn to think like mathematicians in order to solve the “Secret Message.”
