Buying cheap oil from a country that invaded its neighbour is not a neutral act. Nor does anyone outside of India think India is neutral. India has chosen cheap oil over integrity. Since India doesn't care about international borders why will it fight China next time they cross the border.... perhaps there is some cheap oil in it for Modi if you just give up the land. The West and Ukraine aren't going to leap to your defense in the UN, or sanction China for invading - you already blew that one. INDIA IS NOT NEUTRAL it is a vassal of Russia now.

Quad is a joke, cobbled together by the US because it is losing influence in the region. Like Japan and Australia can do anything about it. One is ageing beyond control with huge deficits, the other is barely 20mil in population and needs to sell resources...

When US invaded Libya, Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan, how comes no European countries stood up and sanctioned US, wasn’t it a double standards? When it came to Russia, the EU was quick to jump into the bandwagon with US to sanction Russia. Hope when all these are over, Russia must never forget and forgive the EU countries which colluded with US.

That is the reality of life, it’s their way or highway. The only way to stop this is Russia, India, China and Asian forming a block and have a common voice.

US never invaded Libya, it did provide military intervention under a UN Security Council resolution. In Syria, there were never US troops on the ground either. Russia heavily bombed Aleppo in support of Bashir and killed thousands of civilians. This action was condemned by the UN but Russia and China vetoed the sanctions approach. The picture in Iraq and Afghanistan is murkier and the US led coalition were heavy handed especially in the rebuilding of Iraq, but in principle this was in response to the threat of Islamic terrorism, including the 2008 Mumbai attack. Russia, India, China have already formed an economic bloc with South Africa and Brazil it is called BRICS.

The EU sanctions have nothing to do with the US sanctions. Everyone here in Europe was horrified to see that Russia started a war in our soil after a long waited time of peace. We have had Russia ruling over us before and we do not want that ever again. Do not say that we're just doing whatever the US is doing. By doing so you're disregarding our terrible history with Russia.

Will Republicans follow current US policy towards Russia if their candidate gets elected as President?? There are many Putin 'fans' in GOP that are actually supporting Putin openly

This is an anti Republican talking point you only hear on CNN and other outlets that support the Democrats. Republicans do not support Putin and are arguing for polish jets and stronger leadership. Republicans have always been more prone to go to war.

My take on sanctions against Russia. That is a traditional approach - which is guided by certain facts that are missing in the case of Russia. 1. Russia is current account Surplus. That means on the P&L accouny it was making profits. Hence has built significant reserves. 2. It is energy Surplus. That means energy prices are not impacting. 3. Rouble depreciation means that its imports get costly. Its import basket is essentially industrial goods. Hence does not imapvt consumer prices. 3. Every currency trade requires settlement in Roubles too. That impact is perhaps missing in the assessment. 4. The prices of Rouble and Oil both are speculative trades. That means contracts are being set off and not settled in the traded commodity. This can result in very odd situations. For example in 2019 we saw negative prices in WTI trade of crude oil. That means the seller was paying to the buyer to take his inventory. 5. The world order is changing with Russia China trade cooperation

1. Putin. 2. a) Ukraine b) Russia Oligarchs c) The Russian People c) Rest of World d) No One really a few share holders who have shares in some companies rearming. They always do well over time.. but they are a risky stock pick.... like pharmaceuticals and some financial shares.... ... Very FEW are going to benefit... and even then I would suspect the rest of their shares would be so down and inflation up that hardly anyone in the world at all is going to benefit from this. Not Sport . Not students not young people no one....... The amount of suffering with millions of refuges, people blown up and missing limbs and people shot when Russian soldiers broke into their homes for food and they confronted them... this is a tragedy for the world and the HATE MUST STOP..... online and You Tube .... against all people......... Ukraine wanted to be FREE.. with its own language and its own culture.... USSR letUkraine starve in 1932 and 1933 and thought people in India might not know or remember they remember in Ukraine. Ukraine does not want to be Russian. No one does. India would not. Ukraine if you look at history of Ukraine gave their culture to Russia before the Rus moved to Moscow..... Ukraine is an old and strong developed language and people..... they want their own culture.

Despots dictators and strong men are going to be easily distinguished from the democratic leaders. India can help Russia and be left behind with China as the Russians winning friends ! There are nothing more important than friends in critical national security issues. Make good choices.

We want to contain pakistan without fear of economic sanctions. The British always support pakistan in their foreign policy. India should disconnect from SWIFT system. RBI should work hard to create its own version of SWIFT & insist all countries trading with India to follow our version of SWIFT. India should limit investments from US companies in India. India has restricted chinese companies in the past from taking over our Indian companies. India should diversify its foreign currencies. They should go for gold, yen instead of dollars. Master card & visa are to be stopped from expanding their business in India. Google pay & whats app pay are to be disconnected & invalidated from UPI.

Economic sanctions on Russia is not a wise step because it will help rise inflation and scarcity of many things and it helps to promote tension and escalates the situation the developing countries face lot of problems and price hike their growth is hurt people suffer by price hike who is going to help them and fulfil their losses for developed nation like America it's OK but what about country like India who imports 80% of its requirement of crude oil it's the fault of Ukraine that it wanted to join NATO why will the entire world suffer from the wrong decision of Ukraine it's a immatured decision of President Biden today the world is interdependent on each other sanctions aggravate the problem where as there should be a constructive dialogue to solve the problem and all essential items needed for survival of mankind must be kept out of these sanction list of course heavy fines must be imposed on country doing inhuman acts and these fine money must be used for well fare of the country which has been hit by that countries wrong policy.

Marina Golub from Ukraine wrote: Dear people of the free world, Respected people in NATO! People in Congress! People in the Senate! People in European parliaments! For many years, namely 30 years, you have taught us how to build an independent state. You told me what laws should be in a Democratic state. You held a lot of summits, conferences, round tables where your top speakers told us about the basic values of free and democratic countries. You have always rightly reproached us for our shortcomings: corruption, slow reforms, and so on. And we tried to correct this and be worthy of a free democratic world. We built the country, wrote laws, and enshrined in the Constitution our desire to join the EU and NATO. But all this time you were missing something. We should have done more! We should have done better! We should have done it faster! And we accepted it and worked on it. And when the bombs of the occupier flew at our country, when our country is being destroyed, when Russia wants to conquer our independent and free country, you are not ready to defend the values of a free democratic world! Yes, you are helping us - and we are grateful! And for weapons, and for sanctions, and for medicines, and for food, and even for flags in instances! But now I want to tell you: you can do better, you can do more, you can do faster! Close the sky over Ukraine! This is not only the war of Ukraine! This is the war of the free world with tyranny! And so that in a completely understandable language for all people - everyone knows who the abuser is! Everyone knows about his crimes with evidence! The injured party demands punishment. And the judges offer a lot of money for abortion and medical treatment. It shouldn't be like this! Remember everything you told us! And close the sky over Ukraine! Because today we are the only ones standing in the way of the occupier in your direction!

What free world you are talking about? It is west dominated unjust world order where safeguarding west geostretegic and economic interest is the only value that matters. You are seeking help from global tyrants. You are just pawns the west is using for its dominance. They will praise your bravery and steadfastness till they have Ukrainians to be used as Canon fodder. They have plenty of money and lots of weapons for you that they will definitely continue supplying to you till you are useful for fullfilling their strategic goals. They want to prolong war and consequently suffering of Ukrainian people so that they can hurt economy of Russia (let the bear bleed). The west need Ukrainians dead bodies to feed their propaganda machines. Open your eyes and see how west is using you. War can be stopped immediately if Ukraine make a decision as a free nation that it refused to be a puppet of west and shun west promoted narrative of ukrain's right to join NATO. Can't you see why the west ignoring your SOS's, not a single NATO country is ready to sacrifice its men for the so called "noble struggle against an west designated invading country". Sorry stupids don't deserve sympathy but fools do, so my sympathy is with you. Pray that you will recover from cleverly designed brainwash and God bless you with vision to see nefarious designs of western empiralism.
