Just to clear some things up...when the USSR fell, many opportunists, "smart guys" or "the blue eyed" found it easy to buy for nothing state assests that later on were sold at very high prices. This, didn't only happen in fromer USSR/ Russia, but also in its satellite states. Corruption (particularily this kind of system corruption) was the main reason why some eastern block countries took long to enter the EU. Even now, things are not yet cleaned in the state system but in Russia it stayed the same with Putin. This guy is just one of many and most likely the reason he came out was because somebody wanted to get rid of him (like many jumped out the window, died in car crashes etc.). It is good he managed out, because the Russian people deserve to know what happened to their money, why the bolshevics messed them up so badly, why they suffered for so many years.
