When modern listeners think the '80s was ignorant bliss, there was a metric ton of awareness represented in the metal genre. Lol I went to HS with Lenny. IIRC in my Sr. year he was a soph and had a broken leg so he didn't suit for PE. He would sit in the locker room and play his guitar. The jocks talked shit about him but he always had the chicks around. Last time I saw him was at his practice place. He had this big ware house with a stage set up and everything. Shit looked like he was going places. I went to watch rehearsal with a buddy. There was supposed to be a party later but we couldn't find it. My buddy spun out his Nova and curbed the left side, totaling the front axle. Both of us moved out of state within a month. About a yr later I'm sitting on the shitter in the morning, before going off to my menial job at a sugar plant in buttfuck WY. I picked up a Kerrang...or some other metal mag my girlfriend had brought over....and there was Lenny lmao. A fucking rock star. Fuck my life. Well....that's my story and I'm sticking to it.. This man was one of my absolute idols. This man shouldn't have died so soon. I mean, Sanctuary was on the rise. Nevermore was in the talks. His (would be) new solo album was on the very making. It was gonna be called "Shadow Work", and he himself promised it'd be one of the heaviest things he'd ever recorded. Instead, Sanctuary is now on a limbo. His new solo album (if anything) is gonna be released only with guests vocalists filling in for him. And what's worse: Nevermore is... Never more. So, again: this man shouldn't have died so soon. I've never looked through a comments section to a KZbin video and pretty much liked every comment on the list. Thank God for you guys appreciating the genius that was Warren Dane and Sanctuary. R.I.P. Warren you wonderful soul x

Love Warrell (RIP)! Nevermore was in its infancy when they opened for Flotsam & Jetsam years ago in Milwaukee. Nobody at the show and my buddy and I were gratefully sitting at the bar after working all day. Nevermore finished their opener and Warrell, with long blond hair down to his ankles, came up to the bar. We were both grinning ear-to-ear and my bud said, "Great show, man! Can I buy you a drink?" Warrell smiled, paid for his own drink and thanked us. It was a good omen of what was to come! (Flotsam show was great, too, but no encore....)

Oddly enough Geoff Tate and Warrel had the same vocal teacher in Seattle. It really shows in these old videos.

This song represents the signs that all of us can see today. The circle is closing until the neck of the human race. Heavy Metal is this... No limits for the truth. This band is fucking important for everykind of guy or girl.

...Speaking of the sands of time - its a shame this band never got the recognition they deserved. Great Heavy Metal band of the era.

"Politicians promise you the world, and a preacher cries All he ever wanted was your money, and a bitch on the side" ...Lyrics that could not fit better with the Neo-Greek Reality...The reunion live in Northern Greece of this Heavy Metal Legend finds me 24/24h in a hospital in Florida...eh...Florina Greece!! ...Lucky me...as always!! :-/ Their 2 & only albums are the best of their kind & when the mid tempo of this song ends(4:36) I sponteniously reach headbanging in milliseconds!!!
