Another very important and useful thing ...please add auto-gain for the compressor output gain section...it's a very little add that would be a very big gain for that kind of tool. Actually it should be added in each Acustica Audio release like all other good audio plugin compressors on the market.

excellent!!!! i was wondering if you guys were gonna put out a good ssl emulation. i've tried sand 3, and i was disappointed by it, especially compared to the quality of your other products. the moment you engage any eq band, the sound becomes incredibly thin, tinny, and sharp, even with all the gains set at 0. i didn't like the eq stepping idea either. i did like the individual band on/offs, on that one, the compressor, and the excellently working gain compensation for the preamps, which you have on so many plugins. for this one, i've read that you've emulated the g series compressors - the bus and the channel. if you could insert the e compressor there, as well - with the additional features, obviously - and the k compressor, with its peak mode, it would be great. emulating the mic preamps would be great, too. gain compensation, and all. didn't the original compressor have a 30 ms attack? i've noticed it doesn't have a pan knob. sometimes, a good pan algorithm sounds better than that of the daw. i'm happy it's got the width control, it's missing in other emulations, and it's incredibly useful for building a 3d image. for future console plugins, it would be great if you could incorporate some channel tolerance/variation technology on everything, it works great, and very few makers have it, whereas probably every console emulation should. all in all, can't wait to try it. you guys make great stuff.

On the channel strip i can't see Gate/expander as on the console. How have you solved that?

Even though the settings don't match the SSL hardware as others mentioned, this sounds EXTREMELY GOOD. Biggest thing I've noticed is that the saturation sounds a lot more lively. The additional controls for the Sand Comp are a welcome addition too. Better GUI and ability to grab EQ nodes on the Sand Strip display improve the workflow significantly. Even though it's not absolutely true to the original, my ears tell me it's good.

Also, is Comp A or Comp B the bus compressor? On the product page, it says that Comp B is the bus compressor however, I notice in the presets that Classic Glue Comp and Classic Punch for Mix Bus turn on Comp A. Also, in SAND 3 Comp A was the bus compressor. I'm so confused. This plugin is totally different than SAND 3. It seems we have lost features and functionality.

The newer Acustica plugins labeled "hyper" and "ultra" are easier on the CPU than past technology. One reviewer said that 13 instances of Sand 4 only used 20% of their CPU, so it's not too bad. They offer free trials, give it a try

SSL Channel comp with 20 ms slowest attack setting...and... release... Jesus... The original was 3 ms and 30ms attack time, release was between 100 ms and 4000 ms! This is not an SSL plugin just a creation with little inspiration and a beautiful interface SSL'ish Money'ish. Disappointing.

@@SomebodyPickaNameman the range is 1 to 20 ms and 100 to 4000 is accurate it depends the channel strip comp or bus comp. All is ok here

I don't understand what happened with this plugin. SAND 3 had all the attack and release settings of the emulated compressor. SAND 4 appears to have ditched them along with one of the compressor types (there use to be three, now there's only two) and COMP A from SAND 3 is now COMP B in SAND 4. What in the world?!

@@Vossflying one of my biggest problem is using the SSL consol brand as character arguments, and if they lie about that, why wouldn't they do it for the rest of the plugin? you know what I mean...? it's supposedly completely faithful when not at all... 10 milliseconds of attack is huge when you compress a kick or a snare, the difference that I was able to observe on the consol channel compressors is between 30 and 33 ms (attack), which is completely ok, but 10ms...
