What’s up everyone. I hope you enjoy my attempt at sand casting some graphite molds from ArtByAdrock. I’ve had these molds for a while now and love them. I need to buy a bunch more from him though, two of these is definitely not enough. I left all of his info in the description, make sure you check out his KZbin channel and pick up some of these awesome molds from his website www.ArtByAdrock.com Happy Wednesday!

Wow, thats a cool idea to make the sandcasting of the actual coin mold... very unique! I have a few molds I carved out of graphite and I know eventually they will wear out so what better way to preserve their memory for years to come. Great Idea and nice results!

On many items, I like the “fails” better than the good pours. Especially coins, skulls, and in TGS’s case, the clock faces. 👍🏻

Far out! Another great episode. I always love it when you show your mistakes. It's valuable info that can help people who want to get into the hobby. I think including them is good all the way around for both technique and safety. You are a very talented person and one of my favorite metals guys here on youtube. I dig your light-hearted creativity and spirit, it makes for very enjoyable content while at the same time providing good info and applicational principles. I always enjoy watching your videos. Keep up the good work man.

I'm not crapping on you at all. But try some green sand. Its not flammable and you can get it pre-mixed on Amazon and its cheaper to re-use. It doesn't catch fire and burn your wooden frames. Just add water when it dries. Its a lot more forgiving and less expensive in the long run. And for god's sake I've been watching you for a while...be patient and pour slower. LOL! Be calm like swdweed....in most of his videos. :D
@TheGrowingStack3 жыл бұрын
I’ve been wanting to try that. I’ll take you up on that for sure. Lol, I know, watching back(and thinking back), the moment the flames jumped out my heart raced and I tried pouring the rest and made a mess of things... Twice! 😂 Thanks Spicee 👍

Hi Mr.Stack, Love your videos and appreciate your style. I was wondering what your crucibles are made of? Or what you recommend? Years ago I homemade a furnace and used a small fire extinguisher as a crucible but ended up melting through the bottom of it. I assume the primary options are graphite and ceramic crucubles? and do you recommend a size of crucible?
@TheGrowingStack3 жыл бұрын
@Addy Hi Addy, thank you very much. I’ve seen the fire extinguisher used as a crucible many times and it always worried me. I use Pro Cast clay graphite crucibles that I get from PMCsupplies. As far as size goes, it really depends on what you want to melt and the quantity you’re going to do. I use all different sizes from #1’s to #8’s. Make sure your furnace can accept the size you get, you don’t want to have it too big where it’s unsafe to be in the furnace as well as getting it in & out of course 👍

Great video, are you going to try and use the moulds you casted? Aluminium should be ok should it?
@TheGrowingStack3 жыл бұрын
I was going to do that but I had so much content already. Either aluminum or zinc since it has such a low melting point. I’ll probably do that in the next video. 👍

Was wondering why you use stack in your name instead of something else kinda ripping him off. Same content and style vids and stack from his name should do one of your own. But if it makes you money and gets views lol
@vincedibona4687 Жыл бұрын
“Stack” is a common term in this scene. No one owns the word. It would be like complaining about guys that focus on firearms for YT videos using “gun” in their channel name, or car guys using “garage”. Sorry, your complaint is moot. I hope this helps you understand better. 👍🏻
