Gee thank God for the validation i needed thru this video and Pastor Matt. Yet i didn't really need it because i know God knows me best and what make me tick. He loves me for who I am and knows how i can best be an instrument of his will. My enthusiasm may not be understood or accommodated, but the Holy Spirit still takes advantage of it for the building of the Kingdom. All glory to God!

I love sandals because I am a stripper and I can be part of a movement without feeling judged or unwelcome. I lost my mom this year but on the plus side I overcame alcohol addiction. I can successfully work without drinking. I met the love of my life and I have a healthy happy relationship. I didn’t think church was for me because I wouldn’t be welcomed due to my job. My boyfriend showed me sandals when my mom died and how it’s for everyone no matter where you are from or what you do. I’m so thankful for sandals church. Just did my test and I am a 7. Very excited to learn about myself more and keep improving my life. Hopefully find the right career path for me by praying and working hard. Thank you Sandals ❤️

But I am so glad that I finally found a sermon that I can completely relate to and convict on certain things that God has already been talking to me about. God teaches us through the Bible, which is the only tool we need. Proverbs 30:6 warns us, "Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar." The enneagram is strongly associated with New Age philosophy and has occultic origins. The man credited with introducing the enneagram to the West is George Gurdjieff. Gurdjieff was a mystic, philosopher, and spiritual teacher immersed in occultic practices such as astrology, mental telepathy, spiritism, fortune telling, and posession. One of his followers Oscar Ichazo, along with Claudio Naranjo (a psychiatrist) began relating the enneagram with personality types in the 1960s. In a 2010 interview, Caudio Naranjo admitted that he lied about the origins of the enneagram because he wanted his idea to become famous and widely accepted. Naranjo admitted the enneagram is not an ancient tool of Babylonian origin. He confessed he arrived at the nine personality types through "automatic writing," which is the process of producing written words while in a trance state. The words arose from a supernatural source. The bible warns us not to channel spirits (Leviticus 19:31). The enneagram is a demonic New Age teaching that is infiltrating the church. Please do your research, and remember the devil is the master of deception. Don't be led astray. 🙏🏼 The interview link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZ2yZH6AjNOBmpo

So I'm a 6w5, but I realize that I get too serious sometimes and so when I knew things were going to be stressful last semester I decided to bring a bubble wand to campus. I would bring them to class and if I was confused I might blow a bubble. I let others blow bubbles before and after my college class too. If we were going into finals I would break out a dance party before class after we went over the information together (my 5 side came out in my math class and I loved teaching people the information back to them to help them review) but in the end of it we would dance to veggie tales rap edition or bowl of cereal. This was all because I have a friend who brought a handkerchief everywhere in his basketball shorts and it would cheer up people when he pulled it out to share. Do something silly sometimes is so good for my soul. It was incredible and I will continue to be a goof ball. My friend helped remind me that being a little kid in the world is one of the best ways to share the light of Jesus. Its okay to be serious but its also so okay to be silly when things are hard. I currently am on my 8th of 9th bottle of bubble juice for my bubble wand this year. I am working with middle school and high school and I bring it to work every day because being silly is fun. Just wanted to share a simple way to make a day a little bubblier is with literal bubbles (if allowed).

"But the illustration of astrology brings in another factor, and that is the science of the thing. It is a reasonable question to ask whether being born under Venus has anything to do with anything. Put another way, personality tests tend to oscillate between pseudoscience and the glaringly obvious. They confirm their scientific bona fides by telling you things about yourself that everyone who knows you has already known for some twenty-odd years. When they tell you genuinely new information about yourself, there are reasonable grounds for doubting the accuracy of it, and when the insight is undoubtedly accurate, it is something that everybody knew already, especially your grandmother." dougwils.com/books-and-culture/s7-engaging-the-culture/the-enneascam.html The enneagram is a neat-o parlor trick, but utterly pointless, useless and an occultic/New Age money-making scam .

Hi Linda! He's talking about the Enneagram - a personality typography that divides the population up into 9 personality types that are incredibly uncanny. Like SCARY accurate. If you're looking for an accessible starting point, I'd suggest checking out, The Road Back to You: An Ennegram Journey 😊
@andrewcramer92004 жыл бұрын
@@kelseymadas2772 it's not "scary-accurate". Read this: www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/people-are-strange/201909/when-personality-test-results-are-wrong-feel-so-right The Enneagram only regurgitates what you tell it, what you already know (or think you know) about yourself. People then use confirmation bias to swallow the rest of the Enneagram's theories, which have proven to have no empirical basis. "I'm a 5 therefore my sin is avarice 😞". Uhhhhh, what? Simple observation disproves that. I like to think and use logic, but I struggle way more with other sins. The Enneagram of Personality was created by two stoners who frequently had "out of body experiences". I'm not saying they intentionally misled anyone, but I am saying their methodology is forbidden all over the Bible and the above link that explains why you're duped if you think it's accurate is why the Bible forbids drug use (what "sorcery" actually means) and spirit contact (which Claudio Naranjo happily talked about using in a KZbin video). The results are a muddled mess of nonsense, the "accuracy" you perceive is deceptive as proven by Bertram Forer almost 2 centuries ago, and the fact that Christians will stubbornly ignore these things because the Enneagram tickles their ego and insecurity is a sign of the falling away. "People will be lovers of themselves" 2 Timothy 3:1 "A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself." Psalm 18:2

Hey Pastor Matt! I'm half way through your enneagram sermon series and I have to say, they've brought so much life, healing, and light into my mom and I's life! And I thank God deeply for that. But there is one thing I noticed that made me feel uneasy during this particular sermon. The Gender stereo typing, I wish you wouldn't speak so generally about peoples genders, almost all of the traits you described a man having, (Men don't dance when their angry,) (your subtext of Boys Don't like beauty and the Beast) or (that's not masculine comment) can be harmful to boys that do dance, or do like beauty and the beast, or don't care about necessarily being perceived as masculine. Both my brothers are pretty artistic and it would be doing them a disservice to classify them as less manly, if they don't fit into your box of how you perceive masculinity to be. Anyways, I still appreciate all the hard work you're doing and I so appreciate your sermon series! I hope this didn't come across as rude or as I was trying to be mean. Much love to you all, God Bless!

Its called finding identity
@andrewcramer92004 жыл бұрын
@@jordzb7379 Do not take this the wrong way but. . .your identity is not found in a scientifically invalid tool. Patrick Vermeren wrote a book called "A Skeptic's HR Dictionary". "The enneagram can teach us something about our personality" is listed as Myth #8, and scientifically exposes the arbitrary nature of the system. Psychologists use something called "Multi-Dimensional Scaling" to test inter-correlation of types in a given personality inventory, and the Enneagram failed miserably to plot the way the proponents claim. He writes: "The HPEI data also reveals that the idea of “wings” of the adjacent types is untenable. Adjacent types show small intercorrelations (1 shows a +0.14 intercorrelation to 2 and -0.12 to 9 for example). To make things worse, the opposite types are not correlated negatively, but positively: for example, type 1 and 6 show correlations of +0.44 (French) and +0.47 (Dutch). In their comparison to a 5FM test, they fail to notice that adjacent styles don’t show a continuous dimension. For example, if style 1 scores high on conscientiousness, the adjacent styles should somehow show at least medium correlations too. But this is not the case: for example, style 1 shows a correlation with conscientiousness of +0.58, whereas adjacent style 9 has a correlation of -0.07 and adjacent style 2 of 0.00. Except for extraversion (at least with three styles), this problem occurs for all 5FM personality traits and the enneagram styles." Simply put, the Enneagram is not helpful. The only support this system has is the self-reported anecdotal evidence, which also exists abundantly for Astrology and Tarot readings, i.e.: meaningless, not acceptable in a proverbial court of law. Now if you're concerned with Vermeren as a source, that's fine, he's definitely not a Christian, although that does not invalidate the scientific evidence. If you want that specific Christian perspective, I offer Jay Medenwaldt's verdict: "Unless you've done graduate work in psychometrics, the scientific data probably doesn't mean a whole lot to you (which is why there are two parts to this article). For those who have studied psychometrics, it's a no-brainer that the enneagram simply cannot do all its proponents claim it can. Any scientist who studies personality would simply look at the reliability scores and conclude the test is not accurate enough to be helpful, and therefore, they wouldn't use it because the potential for harm will be too high." www.jaymedenwaldt.com/2019/01/the-enneagram-science-and-christianity.html He reached the exact same conclusions and blogged them a full 9 months before Vermeren's book was published. Both of them observed one thing, however: very little research on it is available. Only Vermeren articulated why that is: " Because of the occult and obviously esoteric nature of the enneagram, it is of no surprise that my Champions League hasn’t wasted their precious time and money on studying it, a clear indication they don’t take it seriously in the slightest." As a Millennial, I implore people to use common sense, logic, reasoning, and above all science. Research the Barnum Effect, that's the only reason the Enneagram seems valid.
