Sherwood is linked to the story of Robin Hood, the deep forrest with notes of sandalwood and smoked oak mixed with a creamy carrot seed note (carrot cake). Again the carrot harmonizes with the iris (orrus root). So these are 5 notes which you mentioned are deeply linked to the story. The tree on the perfume is red oak. Carrot and beetroot were one of the few vegetables which could be grown in the forrest by Robyn Hood and the Merry Men.

Great video! The further I’ve gotten into my fragrance journey, the more I’ve really begun to appreciate fragrances that have an emphasis on woods. Sandalwood is probably my favorite woody note due to its versatility. It has so many facets that can be highlighted, while still being recognizable as sandalwood. Spicy, woody, creamy, powdery - I love them all! Some of my favorite sandalwood prominent fragrances: - Kilian Sacred Wood - Jacques Fath Tempête d’Automne (beautifully spicy, milky sandalwood) - Kierin NYC Santal Sky - English Laundry Arrogant (this is a cheapie, and the price definitely factors in here; however, for the price, the smooth lavender and sandalwood combo in this little gem is incredibly well done. This fragrances is clean, fresh and very smooth. It’s smells like a grown up, more elegant Le Male with a prominent sandalwood) One that is very difficult to find due to discontinuation, but is well worth a sniff if you ever get the chance is Valentino Uomo Noir Absolu. Absolutely fantastic peppery incense, cinnamon and sandalwood with just a touch of sweetness. I had a bottle years ago, and have yet to find anything quite like it. I’ve seen people compare it to TF Black Orchid, but I do not find them to be similar.
