Some time around early October 1945 Mr & Mrs C.F. Ferry went to the Northumberland registry office to register the birth of their wee bairn, and a canny lad he was too. When they registered him they had a specific spelling for his forename. Since 1972 that same bairn has given a good clue on the spelling of that name on every record he has made...........but still some get it wrong

Enough adverts on this? Not all of us want you tube premium, mister. I've counted about 6 thus far and it's not even the end of the video. These should at least be sequenced at beginning and end (if necessary between the songs and not DURING them if you HAVE to bleeding monetise it as it ruins what should be a really entertaining video. Have a bit more consideration for your viewers/potential patrons dammit). If this is you tube's fault I'll give you benefit of the doubt but its really annoying having songs broken up like this. Anyway, rant over. I'm pretty sure I never saw this tour/ precise line up so this setlist is all new to me...AM I THE ONLY ONE WATCHING WHO WISHED THE JAZZ SOLO/DUO HAD SUDDENLY TIPPED OVER INTO 'SMOKE GETS IN YOUR EYES'?40:25. That would have been brilliant.
@paullangton-rogers23903 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Adverts in the middle of a concert seriously suck. Start is ok. It's an insult to Bryan Ferry and his band also to make money off of his work like this.
@GyitMulhaneski-GloriousYears3 жыл бұрын
@@paullangton-rogers2390 I'm glad its not just me! Wasn't sure if I was being unfair on the Unloader given that KZbin have the final say on advertising. Trouble is, I've given up on so many videos and Channels. Also not subscribed to (otherwise decent providers) just down to advertising and their monetization and IT'S TRAGIC SOMETIMES. I would have subscribed to this fella but, like you say, its too much. One break I can live with but not through the whole hour (minimum 5-6 interruptions here)! Curious to know how much control the provider of this has but YT itself is worse now as a platform with their philosophy: like no skip option, multiple ads with no limits and endless surveys etc. Bitchute reminds me of YT when it first started and it's soooooooooo good...🆓

@GyitMulhaneski-GloriousYears3 жыл бұрын
@@hansie038 No ur ok I've got no beef with the guy for making his money off this if he's got all his clearances and stuff and its obviously legal footage with no flags - if it were on TV most channels would have 2 - 5 ad breaks unless it was late at night so the principles the same. What I object to (and it is noticeable) is when the adverts kick in at a really s----y point when watching it - I'm not ever going to watch a gig (especially one as good as this) just to have THE SONGS interrupted by adverts; there is an appropriate point to do that and that's BETWEEN the songs!!! I notice this on commercial radio now actually, it probably isn't the fault of the person, but like on radio everything's automated now so if you here a prerecorded show, the system puts the ADVERTS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SONG OR CONVERSATION! This is particularly true of ones owned by News UK in Britain. I fully understand your point in principle, it's just the method in this video. I don't mind people TRYING to sell me stuff but there are particular ways of doing that and the chief one is basically to respect your audience and not treat one's own output as rubbish that's only good for mercenary or arbitrary advertising, as that becomes a self fulfilling prophecy and people turn away and don't come back (its an otherwise brilliant upload but it's put me off exploring the rest of the channel if that's how it's monetized). As for "You Tube Premium/subscription", once I would have bothered but me and you tube are in separate rooms at the moment and are receiving counselling...

This was the era of his Bob Dylan cover album so he was probably promoting that more...he always includes the main Roxy classics though at every solo concert I've been to, but there's a lot he can no longer sing now due his voice changing with age. Also the earlier Roxy Music songs are very complex and hard to perform live those albums had very long tracks! Roxy Music was a very special band, they do a good job of re-creating the sound tho.

Not complaining but did they change the tempo on these songs? They seem just a tick faster than before?
@paullangton-rogers23903 жыл бұрын
You're right they definitely are. I think they tried to squeeze a lot of songs into the playlist...Ferry sometimes does that, changes the tempo or cuts shorts song..now his voice has changed a lot sadly he can't sing the old Roxy classics and early solo ones the same, so they're often re-arranged and done differently, some like this new style tho as he's got older, crooner style..he can't sing falsetto like he used to.
@dixonpinfold25822 жыл бұрын
I have a theory that he has a theory that the original tempo makes them seem to drag in concert. Not much of a theory, but it's all I can come up with to try to explain this phenomenon of his later career.
