You are not "wrong" per say but that's not the issue here. Such scenes should be called out on principle alone. So I don't blame criticism either. But I would agree that they should not take things out of context and review the movie in toto not parts. Thing with cheaters is that they all know they are guilty. I am yet to find one who doesn't get mad when if their spouse does the same to them. Yet, Indians alongside many of the other countries would justify even killing if it's on woman's part. Women are expected to forgive and try to save marriage despite the cheating and even abuse. [Though in case of physical abuse now there is much less taboo, but still many would tell them to move on if it was not too severe.] Their own relatives may pressure them. In such a scenario this kind of justification on part of a popular hero is problematic. And Indian movies have done it a lot. Indian movie heroes have cheated in many movies and their wives had put up with it. They are shown to have two wives, illegitimate children and then heroine would accept it all. In one movie Arth - FL walked away after husband's cheating- the movie flopped. So we have a society that expects woman to forgive. So in the least if a movie plot has such a scene and critiques pick on it, that's good. At least the reminder and voicing it out is a reminder to us all. If it's ignored it less capable director would copy the trope even more blatanly. Bahubali disrobing scene was a problem for similar reason.

Anupama chopra was pissed after the Kabir Singh interview where he kind of insulted her and Sucharita Tyagi, so Anupama Chopra and Her team with other people in bollywood PR to insult his new film Animal. Anupama as a critic never analyses screenplay, direction and a story coming alive. There is so many senseless movie in Bollywood she laughed and watched and talk shit about it, and she finds Animal problematic. I was big Hirani fan and went to watch Sanju, the movie was entertaining to watch but it was so whitewashed and cleaned up and felt fake even though it was based on real life whereas Animal is fictional and the title says 'Animal' and the character behaves like Animal without much consequences. I don't see where Sandeep made mistake it is just a story and an engaging one. It's not his best work or best movie, It is a very well crafted story, or set up for next part. We should be open to new cinema and it is not to inspire people it's for entertainment and reflecting on their life.
