I have tried to acquire at least one pair of Northhampton shoes from each manufacturer. This is my first time to hear of Sanders. I regret my ignorance. Ignorance does have a cure, however. 😀 A pair of those captoe oxfords is in my near future. Thank you for your excellent content.

A good friend of mine from the UK sent me a pair of these shoes Christmas of 2019 after I seen these on him and I love those shoes they get a high shine and I wear them with all my suit attire. Comfortable to wear and well built they became my favorite shoes after. I got them

A great video, Ash. I've noticed you can get British Army issue brogues on ebay & I think they're made by Sanders. They're the pebblegrain, leather soled black brogues issued to Highland regiments. The ones that are "used" are worse for wear as you can imagine, but they often have segs & hobnails. In fact... I think they are Sanders Braemar brogues, RRP £200

Hi I think I missunderstood a bit. So have you or have you not been wearing them? Because you mentioned that you wear them as well as showing totally new sole. Thanks and a great review!

Hi, I presently own 3 pairs of Sanders Oxfords and wear them very regularly in rotation. The pair featured in the polishing video were my most recent pair. I have been wearing Sanders Oxfords for over 30-years now and can attest they are fabulous shoes.

Excellent video. Only one point... I think the welting is only stitched as far as the heel counter... British shoes tend to use that method as it gives a less clunky looking rear to the shoe.
@TheChapsGuide4 жыл бұрын
You may have a point with some shoes, but many make specific reference to offering 360 Goodyear welting - all depends on the price-point I imagine. Ash

@@TheChapsGuide Splicing in a heel counter is, I'd imagine more tricky than a continous welt and stitch.

What's your recommendation for a dress boot? I have a pair of Red Wings for everyday work that I love but their styles for dress I find somewhat drab. Cheers from a fellow veteran (US Army).
@TheChapsGuide4 жыл бұрын
Well, it all really depends on 2 factors - how much do you want to spend and what do you want to achieve in the boots (casual, dressy, practical, etc.) I'm a big fan of chukka boots in general. They can be simple, but very elegant and can be worn in a wide variety of situations, even a suit if you have a nice pair. As you are a fellow veteran, I know you have the knowledge to maintain and shine leather to a high standard, so perhaps a nice pair of brogues may take your fancy? I personally favour brogues quite a lot (see my earlier review video on Loake Burford boots), as they are robust and stylish. In fact, I'm just about to head off for a long weekend in London with my family and the only pair of shoes I'm taking are my burgundy Loake brogue boots, as I know they will have me covered for lots of walking, dining in fairly nice restaurants and looking casual with chino trousers throughout the daytime. Ticks all the boxes for me and the brogue element adds visual interest. Personally, I would not hesitate to shop for good boots on ebay. I have no hung-ups about pre-owned boots (comes from military experience) and I also appreciate the remarkable deals that can be achieved. I've had some outstanding purchases, including boots, that have saved me huge amounts and the footwear has been almost new. Good luck in your purchase and let me know how you get on. Ash

@@TheChapsGuide , I've really been interested in this style: thursdayboots.com/products/mens-cadet-lace-up-boot-walnut?collection=mens-boots-lace-up But was also wondering if you have to have two different polishes to get the boot tip to look darker. I like that style and have seen that in some other wing tip boots where the tip is darker and the seems are darker. Your polishing video was very informative.

Yes sir - 42 is the same as 8UK. Sanders footwear all fits true to size in my experience of their range.
