Great tip about fusing all the SF101 pieces before cutting--I never look forward to that part but now I will--thank you! I bought the pattern months ago and now am congratulating myself for procrastinating on getting the bag sewn as it will be a lot more fun as my first sew along. Thanks for doing this!

Almost 2 weeks ago, I took a class at my local quilt store on making the Sandhill bag. I had watched your videos first and decided to make the bag slightly wider and deeper so that I could fit my Kindle Fire in the inside pocket. Last week my sister saw my bag and has requested that I make one for her after she decides which fabric she wants. This is a great bag and I enjoyed making it. I love using it! Thanks for making this pattern and videos.

How long should the straps be? Mine is way to long
@rosescookieshop23853 жыл бұрын
Just finished my first sling & have a question about strap length? Mine seems so long, I used the webbing but was hoping you could tell me just how long from top of the bag to clasp it is supposed to be? Was so happy with this tutorial.
@noodleheadsewingpatterns3 жыл бұрын
Hi Rose, I use a yard and a half of webbing, so a 54" long piece. You could definitely shorten it to whatever length suits you (just undo your stitching were you attached the strap slider to, cut and re-sew). Glad you enjoyed making the sling! :)
@rosescookieshop23853 жыл бұрын
@@noodleheadsewingpatterns thanks for such a quick response! I think with it being this style (sling) it’s just a strap I need to get use to! Hoping to make a couple for my grandsons & will probably shorten the strap a bit! Just curious do you have tutorials on any other patterns ?

I'm loving how my bag is coming together in week 3 YAY!❤ Is cotton canvas the only material outside the of the two materials you mentioned in this video be used to make this bag?

@noodleheadsewingpatterns26 күн бұрын
You definitely can!
@QUEENAMINAH718 Жыл бұрын
Have you considered a thicker/stiffer interface? I used the woven and found the bag to be too slouchy
@noodleheadsewingpatterns7 ай бұрын
You could definitely swap out interfacings. Especially if the type of fabrics you've chosen (not all wovens are equal!) don't have as much structure.
@shannon72203 жыл бұрын
Hi Anna! Great video - looking forward to the next one! I am using waxed canvas for my exterior fabric, because of this I’m planning to apply interfacing to the interior fabric instead of the outer. Any thoughts on this? I’m mostly concerned about the pieces that don’t have lining fabrics ie) Shoulder Connector. Thanks!
@noodleheadsewingpatterns3 жыл бұрын
Hi Shannon, thank you! Yes, that's what I would do if using waxed canvas for the exterior. I think you'd be fine without it on the Shoulder Connector, but you could baste on a layer of non-fusible interfacing/scrap canvas to one of the Shoulder Connector pieces before assembling. Hope that helps! :)
@erendirasierrarodriguez64222 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the videos! I have a quilting weight cotton I want to use. Do you think I could add fusible foam or fleece to that to give it enough structure for this bag?
@noodleheadsewingpatterns7 ай бұрын
For sure! I think the foam would give the most structure, fleece a little less, it's up to you. :)

@noodleheadsewingpatterns2 жыл бұрын
Glad you like it Fay! I would skip adding any interfacing to the faux leather, but add SF101 (or your favorite woven fusible interfacing) to the lining pieces.

Can I use a 1.5 D ring? It came with the swivel.

Sure! You would just need to make the strap connector piece 1.5" in width to accommodate the wider d-ring.
