Sandhof Lilies: Photographing one of the rarest events in Namibia | Landscape Photography

Join me on an adventure as I visit on of the most amazing events I've been lucky enough to photograph; the incredible blooming of hundreds of thousands of lilies in a remote and arid region of Namibia.
The event only happens when sufficient rainfall occurs on the area, which can be only every few years. The lilies only bloom for a few days so getting there in time to capture this event is extremely challenging.

Amazing Kyle. Just wondering if the lillies are harvested as they’re on a farm? Hope not! Would you take a drone shot next time for scale etc? Sue

Hi Sue, I don’t have a drone so that would be a no 😂 if you want to sponsor me one that would be amazing 😜. No they don’t harvest them as they die after about a week. They let the cows in which eat them.
