Loved Sandy and so sad when she left the Bake Off. Flabbergasted about womens' toilets, considering peeing just requires a squat behind a shrub or over a bucket. I grew up with no running water, traveling all over b4 Interstates, McDonalds, etc. I would not have thought Australia would be that different than US, especially in early 20th century and do not see how that would have held any woman back.
