bb4960 are you kidding me? Sandia National Laboratories is a government operated corporation owned by Lockheed Martin (the number one weapons contractor in the WORLD), they have so much damn money that money isn't even a thought, because it's not an issue...i personally have a high respect for sandia labs for being able to publicly display this topic of research.

Look at 1:33 if you want to see it "in action" its a very quick but powerful shot. I used to work there. Its a very in depth and delicate process that is extremely time consuming. Averaging one shot per day if everything is perfect.

Is there any way to harness all that energy into batteries ?

does anyone else think this is the most effective out of all the techniques. The one in germany received attention. The sterrlator method seems to be better than the tokamak and the nif. But my money is on the z machine because its method is unique.

@zassounotsukushi @ 05:03 They use Marx generators to produce high voltage high DC pulses. What do you think they are pulsing of course is electricity!!!

You notice its all 'Hey, lets build more efficient nuclear weapons!' then right at the very end they mention global energy depletion.

Prince Westerburg Nuclear weapon development will never be stopped, what they we're saying was that their research stopped physical testing.
@PrinceWesterburg9 жыл бұрын
Jordan Worley What I'd really like to see is research into the Hutchinson effect as it has the ability, among other things, to remove radioactivity. Thorium is the next big thing and the Chinese are developping it whether the US like it or not so it will come. Then the price of electricity will drop through the floor.

Prince Westerburg While I enjoy seeing the world becoming a better place, I don't like the fact that the Chinese will have that advantage over us, after all they are our... real enemy. Hopefully we can win the race to fusion, and that should be something that will put us FAR ahead of them.
@zeeman7079 жыл бұрын
Prince Westerburg You fail to realize that unlimited energy gives a nation a MASSIVE advantage over everybody else, it makes everything cheaper, and increases moral. The Iranians called for the heads of americans for years now, the only reason their attitude has changed was because they were allowed to use nuclear energy. Any other "major player" is racing for the top, we're all enemies, but friends till the bombs start flying. and really? who cares if a few control the world? they had the power to get there and stay there
@PrinceWesterburg9 жыл бұрын
zeeman707 This is all true, if you subscribe to fear based mentality. Look at history on the TV, all about war, games - war, TV - war, murder, horror. The western media is full of it. In the days of the cold war America made over 900 films about Russia invading the US. The Russians didn't make one. Its simply not of interest to them. You've made some good arguments and I suspect that any country that tries to enter the nuclear community is taken to one side and shown the truth. Thats when they calm down and become stable. Having nuclear weapons is like having $900 trillion in your bank account - you simply cannot spend it, ever. And thats a different aspect. You should read Micha Kaku's works or listen to interviews with him. In essence he says that the most dangerous time for any civilisation is to get through the atomic age without destroying everything.

In no way is this ever going to be a practical method of power production. Fusion is the power of space and fission is the power of the Earth. Please understand where you are.
