To remove the skunk from the dogs- combine hydrogen peroxide, dawn dish soap and baking soda - put on the dogs and rub it in. Let them sit for a bit and then wash. The soap and peroxide will remove the oil and the baking soda will absorb the smell. My dogs have Ben sprayed a number of times and this is the best I have found to clean them up. So sorry! It sucks to have them sprayed!

That was a close call... But putting an overheated baby in a plastic bag could have ended in disaster, by sealing in the body heat. A bath in tepid water directly on the skin would have cooled it off quicker.

@kristin Reynolds I'm in the same boat as you. Some days it is everything just to be able to get up and out of bed. Physical challenges have been around for a long time now, and now mental challenges are presenting themselves as I try to just accept and cope with "this is my body now" type stuff. Watching Sandi do what she does, encourages me in two ways. One, the emotional endorphins to help with the mental, and then gives me a happy boost to get up and move around a bit, stretch things out. I would like to get to point physically that I can go to a sheep farm, and try to help with whatever tasks they need an extra set of hands for. Encourages me to get up and moving to become more physically fit, so I can do the things I want to do. It's not about the numbers on the scale, or what size jeans I'm having to buy. .physically fit, for me, is me being able to loose enough inches that I am comfortable in my own skin so I can do what I want to do, and need to do in some ways. She helps bring that motivation to me, just by sharing what she loves. Sorry about the novel of a comment! I wish health and healing your way, clean light, and soft energies inside you, may it continue to grow, and spread to others as well.

I live on the Gulf Coast, it’s normally 90 F + in the summer and I’ve had to do emergency ice baths to get my own temp down after being out in it too long. Don’t be afraid of the cold bath, it works. Glad the lamb got the care and is oK, with the freaky weather you may want to make a benchmark body temp for going straight to a cold bath.

So interesting to watch the moms steal, share, need your help and then those who just pop them out like “Ta Da”. Dogs and skunks, I always use a mix of lemon dish soap, peroxide and baking soda. Have a blessed day.
@thirzapeevey2395
@thirzapeevey2395 2 жыл бұрын
You can clean up a skunk spray with stuff you probably have on hand. This recipe was developed by a vet in our area, and it works better than anything else I've ever tried. Open a fresh bottle of hydrogen peroxide, add a few drops of Dawn dishwashing liquid and a teaspoon of Baking Soda. Work it into the dog's coat and leave it as long as the dog can stand, then bathe normally. The dishwashing liquid cuts the oils in the spray, allowing the hydrogen peroxide to boil the baking soda into the hair shaft. The baking soda neutralizes the odor. Make sure you concentrate on the areas hardest hit: usually the front end. You may still smell it a little on rainy days, but most of the odor will be gone. Yes, I've used it myself. You may have to put a cooling station in that corner in the afternoon in summer. Put a mister in that corner.

I just love these videos. I love when one Momma will accept another one's babies. That was amazing to see an overheated lamb and how you cooled it off. It sure recovered quickly. These are my therapy videos.

Paisano's Roost Farm (American Blackbelly Sheep) in Southern New Mexico: I had a bottle lamb go hypothermic the day it was born and then the next weekend it was hyperthermic. I treated with electrolytes to bring temp down. This was at Relic Farm in rural Kansas in 2017.

I was so thrilled to see that you could save the little overheated lamb… She is so adorable, I wouldn’t be surprised if she became another one of your favorites… And one of my very favorite things, always , is the little lambs when they start jumping around like popcorn… There is nothing that can make me smile quicker… Congrats on saving the baby lamb

I know it’s not easy being a farmer (super super busy lifestyle) and I marvel at your ability to make, edit and post your vids. I would love to be able to do this. Unfortunately the learning curve to produce videos of my operation is a bit daunting when I think of WHEN I would find the time!

Love watching your channel. I've learned so much from you. The way you are with your animals is amazing. Most farmers would just let it be and die. Thank you for sharing your life with us. And hope your family is well.

A thought: On stillborns - If the umbilical cord gets pinched off, the lamb could be starving before birth. They seem to die full grown when they are crowded inside.
