The Oakcastle has so many pointless features (pedometer, video capability, fake sound bars in play mode) but it's the loudest cheap/small mp3 player I've ever used & is actually pretty robust. It comes with a silicone case which gives it major outdoor durability.

worth noting in regards to using bluetooth headphones id avoid the sandisk. ive had it about two years now. after googling some time back i found out it uses a really old bluetooth chipset. it disconnects really easy and makes it really annoyingly useless using bluetooth headphones with it. it'll keep just disconnecting forcing you to turn bluetooth on and off and again and manually reconnect. As you can imagine super annoying if using it in the gym, into your set then music cuts off AGAIN, or going on bike ride set off then seconds later music cuts off forcing you to stop and mess around with the player sometimes it'll make you do this 4 or 5 times before it starts playing fine, but then 10 minutes later you so much as turn your head away from the player and it cuts off again. It's done this with three different types of bluetooth headphones Ive owned all of which work perfect with other bluetooth devices

The SanDisk is the best as there is an audiobook feature the bookmarks and there is no junk installed like the video player or the ebook reader....the screens are far too small for both.

I've lost my oakcastle now will get SanDisk. Oakcastle had a slightly cumbersome interface and equalizer not working on Bluetooth.

For me the most important features are - must be able to navigate without looking at it (play, pause, next song, previous song, volume) - has a clip - fast and easy way to make playlists - uses replaceable battery (AAA) so that it is not useless when the internal battery is worn out

A device that uses replaceable batteries is a really bad idea very heavy and will rust very quickly with water exposure.

I have 2 SanDisk. In my car, I paired with my sound system in my car and sounds great. and I was able to put my entire music collection. I have another for walking. Far better than carrying the phone.

I think the reviewer at the beginning said all had microSD card slots, but can't tell for sure despite repeated listenings at that point. Then, on the Sandisk player detail portion, he skips over any mention of this feature. Doesn't show any slot/port, if there is one. Can someone please confirm or deny that the Sandisk has a microSD card slot? I understand that the Clip Sport Go no longer has this feature. I'm wondering if the Clip Sport Plus still has it. TIA.

The Clip Sport Plus definitely has no microSD card slot. It's not a problem as far as I'm concerned, because not having a slot makes it much more moisture resistant, something that I find particularly useful when listening to it while doing work on a hot day.

Im Video schien es, als ob der Oakcastle der Lauteste ist..ironischerweise hat er keinen Volume-button außen, trotzdem würde ich den von der Lautstärke her bevorzugen...

Great review. Might go for the SanDisk. Just have a doubt: can you play just one song in a folder? or when it's over it automatically passes to another song? and to another folder? if yes, is it possible to disable this? To play one song only? Thks

sandisk doesnt have folder play. Yes you can set it so it plays just the one song, but why would you?

I have both the Victure and The Sandisk Sport Plus (the latter being my favorite). One thing the Victure has over the Sandisk Sport Plus is that it displays the date and time when it idles. I just like little details like that. Thanks for the review!

The Sandisk defaults to Bluetooth off after you plug it into a USB port to charge or transfer files. That actually makes sense to save on battery life for those using wired headphones, and it's quite easy to switch it back on the first time after unplugging it from the port. Until you plug it in again, Bluetooth comes on as soon as you power it up each time.

Wonder if you can answer a question I can't seem to find an answer to. On any of these units and in particular the Sans Disk, is there a "Shuffle Mode" when playing music? So that one doesn't have to listen to songs from one artist at a time, and it mixes them up.

The SanDisk does I just seen it in the menu on the video I'm quite certain it will shuffle everything as it would be pointless on just an album the only issue I'm aware of is some people have had issues with some Bluetooth headphones, I'd like to know how well the FM radio works signal strength and selectively.

They do sell them with micro sd but unfortunately either its sd card slot or the Bluetooth one. You can't have both. Its one or the other.

The sandisk doesn't have micro sd. I know cause I own one. They come with Bluetooth but if you buy the Bluetooth one you miss out on the micro sd slot.

@@Russsir i got the micro sd card one and im really happy with it. I dont need Bluetooth. Cause Bluetooth also drains the battery more. Mine has 25 hrs of battery life which actually is something like 48hrs

The issue with this device if you have Bluetooth you loose out on the bigger battery and the sd card slot. To me the bigger battery and more memory wins out then having the Bluetooth option. Currently I'm considering the aux Bluetooth but I dont think I want it.

Actually the san disk does have a micro sd, but it is build in. You have to open the device to swap the micro sd for a bigger one.

Thank you for your lovely feedback, I don't have these anymore but hopefully someone else can answer it, if I had to guess I would say it's song title instead of file name, as filename is something you see on computers rather than small MP3 players but I maybe wrong 🙂

I have the previous version of the SanDisk. It displays the filename if a particular MP3 does not have title information in the metadata. Haven't tested with other file formats however.

Do not buy the Sandisk Clip Sport Plus if you listen to tons of audiobooks or podcasts. There is NO VARIABLE PLAYBACK SPEED unlike other MP3 players. The Clip Jam has playback speed up to 1.5x but no bluetooth.

Lolz at jogging.. Ive got the Sandisk clip sport... I just clip it to my hat while Im at work. A single charge will last me around a week. Its a pain not having play folder because not all my MP3's have metadata so the just show up as unknown.

Don't buy Victure-M3, it's a piece of crap. The Victure player has no equalizer settings, but it still uses a primitive digital equalizer to boost the low tones. This equalizer is so poorly implemented that it distorts the sound when there is a lot of bass in the music. The terrible implementation of the equalizer means that even turning down the sound as much as possible does not help with the problem with sound clipping (probably the pipeline looks like this: equalization first and then later digital amplitude adjustment). Avoid this piece of crap!
