Lord Babbington was wise beyond his years. Especially in those days, the male brother should have been a protector, someone to look up to, provide a good example of probity. Edward Denham was the opposite. And Babbington realized what Denham had done to his step-sister.

In certain parts, I do wish the music hadn't been quite so loud, I couldn't hear the actual conversation between Babington and Esther. 🥰🥰

The background music is so loud it's difficult to understand the dialogue. I love this couple, wish there's been a fourth season, thus not having the end of the third season so rushed. Would have liked to have Charlotte's family at the wedding; Esther and Lord Babington attending with their family (possibly with another child?); the Colbourne family, including Samuel and Susan, together as a family in a holiday (Christmas? Easter?) setting; a visit to Alison and Declan, or they to Heyrick Park. There was SO MUCH more that could have happened in a fourth season and I think the viewers were shortchanged. More about Edward and Augusta, not necessarily together, but what happened in their lives. Dr. Fuchs and Miss Hankins becoming betrothed. So many more things to take place in this wonderful series, which we, the viewers, have been deprived of.
