It is truly telling that they did not recognize some of Jane Austen’s most famous quotes. This show is a disgrace to the name of Jane Austen. I watched the first season in utter shock and since then have refused to watch this series. Jane would turn over in her grave to see how they have taken her manuscript and twisted it. Before she died, Jane wrote a few chapters of Sanditon and set up what I’m sure would have been a very interesting book. Regrettably, who ever wrote this show’s script took it straight to hell.

They are actors, not English literature majors. Season 1 was unfortunate because the writers went against Austen in so many ways. Yes, seasons 2 and 3 are fiction not created by Austen, but they are much more in keeping with Austen and in fact have borrowed many of her tropes from other novels. I recommend you watch them with an open mind and I am sure you will enjoy them.

Couldn't stand Georgianna, no chemistry between Rose and Alexander. Not like Jane Austin to me. Very disappointed in Season 2 so didn't watch 3. Costumes and scenery were beautiful.

Wrong! Rose and Ben made it very believable with their over the moon acting…. Georgiana’s character I could have done without. I was not impressed with her acting either

Goodness, did you eat a sour apple the day you wrote this? Seasons 2 and 3 were infinitely more interesting. Sidney was a consistent downer. Only negative: there should have been at least eight episodes for seasons 1 and 2 as season one was.

@@Aunt3Sally No sour apples here. I just thought Sanditon was supposed to be a Jane Austen story. Season 1 was, but then it went off the rails when Theo James decided , rightly or wrongly, not to return. They should have re-casted, but it is what it is. I just didn't like it. My opinion.

Don't think so SP/TJ was to wooden he was ignorant arrogant smoker drinker and debaucher can't get much worst than that JA would have had come up with something pretty good for him to be a hero. She might have made Edward Denham instead to be the hero. IT WAS an unfinished work it could have turned out anyhow the writer's made it beautiful
