I'm not shit posting here. I do like this can in theory, but I just saw way too many horror stories of customer service issues when the Sierra 5's went to absolute shit because of those terrible welds. I get the welding had been contracted out to anther company, but the customer service after the fact was on y'all. So buying anything from y'all at this point would be pretty unnerving to say the least.

3d printed cans don't have the same problems as traditional cans and the problem wasn't from Sierra 5 but the OEM half assing OEM orders so people would buy directly from the OEM. There's a reason why they have to go completely silent about the subject.

They didn’t do a recall because that would’ve cost them $$$. Recalls cost $. They choose to just let customers be QC testers on this one, much cheaper than just issuing complete recall.

i will say this about dead air, for a non threaded attachement system, i think the keymo is the best qd system. also the fact that it is hub comaptible means you arent restricted to just thier mounts

It was the 3rd hub compatible mount I tried, and ive been on it since. I don't know why it gets hate. It's literally THE BEST attachment system. Period. Never carbon locks, easy to take on and off, locks up superrr tight. Drop it on the muzzle, 3/4 of a turn, its on and its not coming off.

@@Kaotix_music i havent heard anything negative about the mount. i heard of issues with the tube, but that seems to have been fixed. regardles, i like how it does its locking mechanism, that really intrigued me. and it being hub comaptible, allowing for mounting pretty much any hub mount. and i like that the industry is going to a standard. allowing for picking of the suppressor you want and being able to find a proper adapter

@@caseyschryber1255 You also realize the warranty work was done with poor communication and excessive wait times right? Read some of the horror stories online dude. I agree with Wok, they should have took it on the chin, and recalled the bad batch of Sierra 5s instead of letting customers slowly piece meal send them in. The reason why Dead Air has pivoted to DMLS was to get away from KGM being their OEM who didn't cast the Stellite baffles right which caused the Sierra 5 debacle to begin with.

Man the overreaction from everyone in the gun community is hilarious. You have 1 batch, of maybe 40 suppressors go out, and everyone gets up and arms on it. I spoke with dead air at suppressed fest. Many people are trolls, so many times someone posts a horrible story of their sierra 5 and when dead air contacts them they are silent on it. If dead air knows what batch went out, remedied it 1:1 with their customers who bought them, made it better, learned and resolved the issue, why do they need to gravel at the shooting communities feet to buy their stuff? Of course Id be so sad if it happened to me but if they made it right move on. Good lord. They haven’t pulled an sig and blamed a the suppressor cover for it or some bs. Everyone is such a hater.

You realize this isn’t a regular product, right? People pay $200 and wait nearly a year because of government bs. You’d think customer service would be extremely top notch with clear communications and a recall, like any manufacturer who released possible product that could potentially be harmful to customer? People need to stop kissing up to companies who do their jobs. Do you tip 30% to a server who just took your order and served you food?

@@ErinHump777 Yes. Completely different baffle design. It's essentially a different can from the original Sandman, but the Sandman is a very popular can that still has a good overall reputation. After releasing the Mojave 9 and L6, Dead Air was bound to do a 30 cal version of the triskelion baffle so why not update the Sandman line with a new 3D printed baffle...a la "Sandman X".

Heat. The best can on the market right now uses it (Radical Defense LS5) but its 20oz or more and 7.5" long. Stupid quiet (125 dB 1 meter left of the shooter). This is making me rethink the RD USA can, though. I just watched Juicey's video review of the Sandman X, and it's impressive AF. PTR Vent level of quiet at the shooter, loud AF at the lead pill receiver's POV (who gives a shit, they dying anyway). All that and its only 15 oz with 6" of length, one of the lightest hard-use cans that's that quiet for the shooter... Great for people who want to save their hearing but dont need Nomad-L levels of ninja quiet downrange. As long as the Sandman X isnt over 900 bones, its going to be one of the best cans to buy in 2025.

I love my Sandman S. I have keymo brakes on my 300 ultra mag. My 26 Nosler, two 5.56’s and a .300 blackout they all share that suppressor. I’ve shot the hell out of that can and I love it. For every negative you’ll find thousands of positives just like mine. It’s an amazing can.
