lol the box is to make shakers and it doesnt include the oil needed? O.o why not? I mean these are great and I have been considering signing up for the boxes but if they dont include all the items needed for the projects why would I do that?

Not necessarily! You only have one mold to make shakers... Shakers don’t need necessarily to be filled with oil... was just my option;) I decided to transform the heart open bezel into a shaker, but is possible to create other projects with it!... and I didn’t used the oil in this one ;) And this is not the monthly subscription box. Is just a starter box to introduce people to uv resin and make possible the creation of projects with all the tools needed to start ;) That’s the fun part of this boxes... we all have different interpretations for the same products ;)

This is the starter box to get you the tools you need to make them, the actual monthly boxes include more of the materials than these. Oil is optional for shakers, and baby oil works fine for them if you want to use it. For the record, the last months box definitely came with shaker oil, just not the starter box.

they are correct... And to be fair they actually have sent it in a few past boxes I've gotten. it may come out to cost, where they would rather give you something of better value and let you just fill with water, baby oil, mineral oil, etc..{.just a thought, because i know them to be a very generous co.} 💕

I often find some stuff from Sophie and Toffee being sold on Aliexpress a year later. They often have the same bezels but not the same molds. If you want to have some real fun, go to Ebay and Aliexpress and do a search for "open bezel" and see how many you can recognize from the Sophie and Toffee kits.

@@libbyannbest1723 Actually, 90% of the things you get from S&T are bought on AE. Not sure of S&T sell their own molds on AE. On AE the things are much cheaper. S&T sells many things for 300% of the main price, more expensive ...

A quick question, in the shaker mould, specifically the one being used at 2:38, there's a smaller mould inside there, with the crescent shape, how and what would you use that for? Is it an optional inner piece? I assumed it was but I'm new and not sure if that is what it's for and how it would connect.

How do you get yours to come out so nicely??? My couple starter pieces with this kit were still tacky 😫 idk what I’m doing wrong??! I’ve ordered some other resin supplies and I don’t want to waste them :(

mine were all tacky too. i just wipe them off with a qtip dipped in rubbing alcohol and it should get rid of that

I love these kits - but does anyone know if these kits can make handles for crochet hooks? I need some ergonomic handles and I've seen clay and wood but not in resin - unless its for a tool (hammer/screwdriver/etc) but not for anything smaller. Any help would be needed. Thanks

Hi Valyn! You can do anything you want with resin! These kits always bring cool items. Even if they don’t bring all you need for the handles you’ll get to know the products that can make it possible 😜 You can make the handle prototype with polymer clay, make a mold with silicone and fill it with resin... et voila! You make a personalized handle for your crochet hooks!😀 And you can find all these products at S&T store!😜

Kind of a bummer it doesn't include the shaker oil...I'm not particularly enthusiastic without it since it's not a complete kit

I disagree Margaret. I don’t think the kit is incomplete, because you can make the shaker charms without the shaker oil ( it’s totally optional to use the oil) And for those who subscribe to the monthly box there’s a high chance to get the shaker oil in the boxes😜 I really think that this box is great for beginners. Even for me, I’m not a beginner and I loved it! New tools I didn’t had, a new exclusive mold and those bezels are just gorgeous!🤗

i'm just curious, Do you just use the hand held light? Or do you put it in a big lamp as well? I have had trouble in the past with stickiness that when you clean it off leaves the piece cloudy...I was told my lamp might not be strong enough. So i bought a pretty powerful nail lamp gut STILL had the same problem... So that's why i ask, i'm wondering if it may have been a bad brand. So that's why i'm curious to know if the Sophie and Toffee will cure with the hand light, THAT would be AMAZING! i used to get them a while back and am considering re starting my sub... OK! I was just mainly asking that with that particular light, was she able to get a full cure with just the hand held...or did she full cure after. because id LOVE to just use the hand held, and if it did would Need to buy one lol..

@@NemoTheDreamO sometimes it's the quality of the resin that leaves it sticky OR the temperature of the room you're working in, it works best at around a minimum of 75 degrees or warmer. Also, you can put finished product if still sticky in direct outside sunlight for a bit, (10-20 min if direct sunlight)that should help also.

yeah, the one in this box from S&T isn't good. I used to harden it for 10 min, and one side would remain sticky. It took a week or more for it to get less sticky. And I used the molds that were in the box. Their resin is not good. It is really toxic. Buy something else from Amazon. But no resin which comes from china.

@@shinomiya89 try JDiction resin, it's the best, even if it comes from China, all stuff from China isn't bad lol - If you're stuck with sticky finished projects, try setting it in direct sunlight outside or a while.

I've been going back and forth thinking about this box. After watching the video it's a no for me. 4 "shakers" , nope. I thought it would introduce you to at least two different projects. But no. Just shakers. 👎👎👎

Hi Niecey! This is not the monthly subscription box... it’s a starter box. It contains tools, a uv torch, an exclusive mold to make shakers and other shapes, open bezels and glass cabochons that match with it, glitters and embellishments... I made my projects as shakers, because I like it... you can make completely different projects with the items in this box! It’s just a box to introduce people to uv resin and allow them to start creating something right away :)
