Thank you for posting. Truly a walk through time for me. I went to school at what was then called the Concord School, a very loose, free-form American high school for about 25 boarders and day students with rich parents in an old manor house across the field in Sandridgebury, from 72 to early 74, when it suddenly ceased operating and the owner/headmaster disappeared. It was a real kick to see the village again, especially the Green Man pub, which always had a roaring fire going. I can’t believe I would get up there from London two or three times a week, spend a few hours at school smoking dope, listening to records and otherwise doing as little as possible, and then walk back through the field, get the green bus, train, tube and bus back home to NW8. A big waste of time and money but had no choice - I got bounced from a good American school in London for poor grades and attendance. Did I really once have the energy to do all that?

Exactly! Sounds exhausting when you think back to your youth but it was so much fun!
