I remember Survival Aids and still use a compass case from them. I bought a lot of stuff from them. I was in a MRT way back then and had a navy blue non Buff buff long before Buff® and used to get slagged that I was wearing my wife's gym knickers 😂 Another great video 👍

Pre-buff, we didn't know what to call them... snood? Neck gaiter? Gym knickers is a new one on me! 😂

Survival Aids! Used to love their catalogue but I think I only entered a shop once. What I did manage to do was get a job in the Glasgow Outdoor Survival Shop which bought out the old SA shop when the company went bust. One of the best jobs I ever had. I was just thinking that I would rather ride someone else's bike in the sandblasted environment.

Great vid! If this happens again consider an ffp2 or n95 respirator. Will keep you healthy. Wearing then while travelling helps you avoid respiratory illness too😊

I actually has a n95 mask for the flight but didn't take it on the ride. Would have been useful.

I remember survival aids, visited once or twice when I was climbing in the lakes too, many years ago.

I've been to Lanzarote about a dozen times, primarily for surfing but last time I went I hired a road bike. Some great routes there but the wind is a real problem, it's almost always windy. I far prefer now to go to Mallorca etc. Far better conditions if you are a cyclist. I'll add I also stayed at Club La Santa and predominant wind is northerly so inevitably had a headwind back which wasn't good!

heading over to Canary Islands in 4 weeks for gravel riding - cant wait. be interested to know what tires your using as im still researching.
@alwaysanotheradventure14 күн бұрын
It wasn't my bike, it came from Club la Santa, but they were about 40mm and had good tread. Ripped sidewalls could be a thing on smaller tyres. Check out what people are using on the Gran Guanache audax perhaps

@@christopherhood9241I was on Lanzarote a few weeks ago and I was using 40mm Pirelli Cinturato Gravel M which coped well with all the many different types of gravel
