Is there any harm done driving the vehicle like this? Aside from a longer warm up as the thermostat is open. We had the complete assembly replaced maybe 2 1/2 years ago with a genuine unit but now got the P0128 fault code so looks like the main thermostat.

Common failure, always change the entire assembly, they go brittle and are prone to warping and leaking. The little bypass hose on top of the assembly to the throttle body is a big problem to.

Have done a few astra ones Sandy alwYs change the lot, then the thin plastic black pipe snaps into a million pieces 😂😂, dont we love our jobs 😂😂😂
