I am Odia. I love my state like I love my country. And the biggest miss our govt has always made is to not promote it in any way, no marketing, no tourism promotion advertisements videos etc anything to promote our state, it's food, culture, tradition, our biggest festival i.e. Rath Yatra, our cuisine, our textiles fabric industry, etc. Odisha's legacy is huge in India, but again neither properly taught nor ever promoted. That annoys me the most.

Odisha govt. along with center needs to take drastic and necessary steps to restore ,preserve and reconstruct the existing heritage sites ...Everything is possible ...The sculptors are there in Bbsr ....Stone is sufficient in Odisha ...Plus Sisupalgarh needs to be unearthed using the help of UNESCO....Every piece of land encroached should be cleared and compensation should be paid ...Sisupalgarh could be the biggest tourism site in Eastern India ...So govt must initiate ...

Shaiva temples are much more than Jagannath temples is because it is most difficult to maintain a Jagannath temple (daily Abadha and rituals starting from 13 festivals in 12 months including annual Rath Jatra to even Nabakalebara every 12 years). Only kings and big zamindars were able to maintain it in the past.

Our ancestors saved and preserved the culture and heritage of Odisha through their hard work and bravery. There were numerous attack from outsiders and invaders. Be it Chandrgupt Mourya, Mughals or British they resisted themselves from coming to Odisha , which is a proof of Odia's velour. Odia's preferred for their culture and heritage over wealth and that's the courage and wisdom of our ancestors. Our temples, Odishi dance, Natural beuty and above all our Lord Jagannath doesn't need any introduction and we are proud of it.
