The Cholan Empire is one example of Hindus doing conquests and raids overseas. If you were to go back into history, Bahlika the Uncle of Bhishma Pitamaha used to rule over Central Asia thousands of years ago. Balkh is named after him. I believe Lalitadiya Muktapida the ruler of Kashmir also did a conquest of Central Asia. Central Asia starts right above Kashmir.

Bharat maps had always expanded with valour of conquest without harming any public and we had established a Chakravarti Rajyas throughout Asiatic Regions. We were warriors by nature and believed firmly in Protection of Dharma as our prime most duty since childhood in Gurukulum teachings.

Kambojas were based out of Afghanistan. Uttarakuru on the other hand was in Central Asia. This was thousands of years before the Turks invaded Central Asia. Turks invaded Central Asia from Northeast Asia around 600 A.D. They formed their Khaganate around that era. White Hunas also lived in Central Asia around that time. White Hunas weren't one people. They were a mix of various Tribes which didn't look the same. The Hunas who invaded Europe came from Northeast Asia, most probably Mongolia itself. I believe the longest lasting Empire which existed in Central Asia was created by the Sakas. By the time of the Turkic Invasions, the Saka Empire ceased to exist. Talking about the Sakas, they followed Buddhism as well as Hinduism. Saka rulers used to arrange their daughters marriage to other Hindu Kings. One Example: The Satvahana rulers. I think it was Rudrasimha who arranged his daughters marriage to a Satvahana King.

Great indian kings,chalukya pulikeshi the grandfather of indian navy, even vikramaditya 2 of chalukya defeated arabs in Gujarath & chasing them to sindh .even chalukya vinayaditya took tribute from persia & khmer Cambodia then send a embassy to China through navy in southeast asia.

This history professor left out the umayyad campaigns in India even though they were defensive campaigns and the decisive wins for the Indian kingdoms, he could have included them too to show how the previous offensive position gradually turned in to the defensive position to save the indic civilization.

Yudhisthir also performed Rajsuya Yadnya. Which was above Ashvamedh. Infact Karna performed Digvijay because Rajsuya could not be performed again. The hardship which Pandav received 12+1 was result of Rajsuya.

Reminds me of a remark by Swami Vivekanand’s that it is a wrong notion to think that Hindus have been confined to the four walls of India throughout the ages and to get our perceptions correct we need to read old books…I specifically found the end portion of your talk most interesting. I think the downfall came because the power and vision of the intellectual class in India to lead the warrior class didn’t exist at time of Islamic conquests. How could lord Rama see the right path without the mentorship of sage vishwamitra or Arjuna without the sagely advice of Shri Krishna….

Main problem of Bharat's decline after 1000 AD was introduction of gun powder and cannons which was not quickly adopted . Another reason was the predominance of Bhuddjsm and Ahimsa wicih made Bharat abandon the whole science of war craft as part of state craft
