There is already a movie on him. It was produced by late Shri Sudhir Phadke, eminent singer and music composer, partly from his own savings and rest coming from earnings of his music programs and donations from like minded people. The year was 2002 or 2003. I am not sure.

If Savarkarji's mercy petition was an act of cowardice, then Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's surrender to the Mughal army led by Mirza Raja Jaisingh (of Jaipur) to stop wanton destruction of life and property of innocent people and to accept 5000 "Mansabdari" ( a war lord leading 5000 foot soldiers, a lowly position in Mughal court) too was an act of cowardice. That Shivaji accepted a truce with Mughal court during last years of his reign is a historical fact. His acceptance of Mughal suzerainty allowed no major conflict between Aurangzeb and Shivaji for last 5-6 years is true. What it has to do with secular and communal. Shivaji had Muslim generals and Aurangzeb had Hindu ones in their ranks. They were not fighting any crusade after all. That in no way belittle the bravery and vision of Shivaji.

Gandhi was so human that he stood with Muslims for Khalifa movement which means Gandhi was not for nation but for Umma, Islamic order. Nehru Indira cannot point that they belong to this or that part of then undivided INDIA. Papers and Radio was aiding Britishers agenda and Gandhi Nehru were part of that agenda. History has been so unfair to this great man. Big kudos to Vikram Sampath for all efforts put in bringing out the truth about Veer Savarkar. Surprising...shocking at several levels that our historians have lied so blatantly to us. Worse, that our so called great leaders have left no stone unturned in bringing down our once magnificent culture to a level where nothing we do seems correct... and have made us such a spoilt society. And now the book is published. This is the kind of stuff that should be written in Indian-English by indian authors... not the ones that are force awarded bookers and such other prizes. Sadly the ranting has not stopped. Looks like it will go on thanks to that vile ecosystem that they have successfully constructed.

I mean, Netaji is one of most,if not probably most, respected and admired heroes loved by billions of Indians.Some may raise question on subhas babu but noone ,thanks to goodness, dare to disrespect him.Though governments of all parties shower official respect and coronation on Gandhi but Peoples of India in thousands abuse Gandhi but Netaji is almost worshiped like a god in masses especially among youths,a rare glory given only to few. Why we are forgetting Alluri Seetharama Raju a great revolutionary patriotic freedom fighter. He was executed in 1924 at the age of 27 years. His honesty, he signed in the arms inventory for having snatched arms ammunition and cannons from the British police. He was not a one man army like Bhagath Singh. Hundreds of volunteers joined his armed rebellion. He developed a people's movement against exploitation of forest resources by the British raj.

@sureshkant shinde If only you have taken a few minutes to read the links i posted it would have been easily evident to you that sarvarkar worked closely with people of all castes and caste difference never bothered him..there were lot of so called upper caste people who supported him..so don't blankly paint all so called upper caste people as evil and they don't go to dalit temples etc.. today all people go to all temples so its not a problem today.. Can you please tell me if Netaji Subhas Ch. Bose who was in the Andaman Jail wrote to called authority mercy petition? I, also, know a number of revolutionaries, primarily from Bengal, who were in the Andaman Jail along with Savarkar who did not write mercy petition.

I think Netaji was in mandley and not in andman. And Netaji didn't need it due to his pan Indian fame.He was one of the tallest leaders of Congress at the time,second only to Gandhi in popularity (due to his far less age I think shows his rapid growth without any godfather). And Nehru himself made this pan Indian issue by getting subhas divas celebrated across the country. Issue to free Netaji from jail was discussed in British parliament...so British were not in position to held him behind the bar for infinite time period. This was not the case with savarkar. More importantly, Sachindra sanyal and barindra Ghosh also wrote mercy petition.can anyone doubt those two of great firebrand heroes! then why double standards for savarkar? I too don't believe everything about his ideas and methods especially of his later year actions as formost leader of Hindu mahasabha but this merciless and shameless insult constantly being flured upon him is utter nonsense.

I agree with savarkar he was great but the only time he failed when he wrote about 1857 war as freedom fight he wrote book on this but at early age maybe he was immature at that time on the other hand Dr.Ambedkar clearly did analysis of 1857 war he clearly mentioned in one of his book about mentality of isalm and 1857 war 1.
