but women-centric films have, anyway paved its path since 2010 onwards. Vidya Balan's TDP & Kahaani made a lot of money. Which gave courage to producers to invest in films like English Vinglish, Highway, Queen, Tanu weds Manu, Dear Zindgi, Piku, Neerja, Bareily ki Barfi, Tumhari Sulu, Mardaani, Raazi, and many more. Gangubai wasn't the first so called women centric film to make it big. the market is already there. Why would smbdy ask u not to make it?

Bengali in Devdas Gujarati in Gangubai , Ram Leela Marathi in Bajirao Mastani Angolo Indian (if I am correct) in Guzarish Rajasthani in Padmavat Have you ever heard any of his song? Actually tried to understand the songs meaning? How beautifully he infused local languages and folklore to give extra layer. What this man did not even 1% of it is done by the people who unnecessarily hate him. First do something than tell.

Gangubai was one of the films selected in the official Oscars reminder list. It was in top 10 in several countries too.. and in terms of global viewership of the two Indian films- #1 RRR with 72 Mn viewing hours followed by #2 50.6 Mn of Gangubai (and that’s without the global hype) RRR was hyped and I am happy for it too as a lover of Indian films but I am not gonna downgrade other films for it Also Telugu movies, Hindi movies, Bengali movies are ALL INDIAN CINEMA :) P.s. in order to qualify for the list you have to screen the movie in US theatres for at least a week.. and not just nominate yourself. I am aware of the terms so please refrain from calling someone an “idiot” just because you cannot put forth reasonable points
