The best part about Sanjay Bhansali is he is so much of an introvert, wearing grey and dark shades inside of his soul but coming out with so much colourful and soulfully oriented movies.

@@user-qp9sj4gw1u what do you mean we were fooled? We weren't fooled. This has nothing to do with you and me. Aditya Chopra signed Sushant and Parineeti for three films to launch them as YRF's next superstars. Just like what YRF did with Ranveer and Anushka. Just like what Dharma did with Varun, Alia and Sidhharth. Sushant came into the movies because of Aditya Chopra, you and I know Sushant only because Aditya Chopra decided to cast him in YRF movies. Stop falling into the persecution narrative. It's getting so old

After 'Lootera' Ranveer Singh didn't have much to do. Then came 'Ram Leela', 'Bajirao Mastani' and 'Padmavat', movies that shaped his career and established him as an actor par excellence. He's indebted for life to Mr. Bhansali. If it was not these movies I don't know if other directors would have imagined him in movies like 'Gully boys' and '83'.

Sanjay Sir's Khamoshi is one of the best movies I have seen. I loved Nana and Manisha in it. There is a scene where an angry Manisha is trying to reason out with her deaf-mute father Nana, using hand language. While she is frantically arguing with Nana, he slams the door shut on her. Manisha continues arguing, her fingers flaying about in desperation, making mute conversation with Nana and all along Nana is behind the closed door out of her sight. Brilliant acting.

What SLB went through during Padmaavat shooting was one of the most insane and evil thing done to any greatly respected artist of Indian Film Industry. It's shameful ... a person who has brought so much recognition for Indian Films through pure and brilliant cinematic experience world over , had no security in his own country. A very large number of foreign KZbinrs and Bloggers who blog on Bollywood .... had fallen in love with Indian films , just by happening to watch an SLB movie.

Ashu Talkies this actually applies to any artist from Bollywood. Everyone is way more loved by the rest of the world than by indian people. I was shocked when I saw the stuff people say about the best artists I‘ve ever seen. Deepika, Priyanka, Ranveer, Shahid, Shah Rukh, Abhishek, Aishwarya and many more. I‘ve come to the conclusion that Bollywood artists biggest haters are the indian people. I don‘t understand that at all.

Nora Hoti That's why they are called coward trolls .... you see , with more population ... more trollers exist....and then India is one country which has one of the lowest cost Internet services in the world ... some trolls take advantage and keep spreading hatred .... you just have to completely IGNORE .... and concentrate on millions of other beautiful fans of a particular celeb out their and their views and opinions. My argument lies more towards the law and order system in our country ... the attack on SLB on Padmaavat sets was bizzare and horrific... if a director with this much fame and respect is not safe in our country .... then what about other people?

May be Anupama thinks while rating "Apun hi Bhagwan he" ..But she really asked a good question why his movies seems unreal..But I think we watch movies to forget the reality. Wow Anupama, never seen Sanjay speak so much; the conversation just flowed. Thank you for providing some insights into the genius' mind. He is an artist consumed with a rare, rare passion for music and cinema. In my view, Sanjay has given all his actors their best roles & career defining parts. Though some might say his cinema is self-indulgent at times, his vision and passion are unmatched among contemporary film-makers. Truly a national treasure.

He is creator of own cinema. Good or bad. Can find producers of big scale movies...but i think hum dil de chuke sanam is his best work. From that film ajay devgan became a grade actor n film industry took him seriously .

One of the best interviews from film companion. Thank you so much for bringing the legendary filmmaker to do an interview which inspires many young people . Great one !!!!
@sanyamkhetarpal075 жыл бұрын
SLB's vision for films is grand but more often than not, faulter's in storytelling. He depends too much on actors to invoke emotions in dialogue sequences. One of the prime example of this is a early scene in Padmavaat when Padmavati is tested by the priest. It's played as a intense scene but there's no set up to why it should be a intense conversation between the characters.
