I am not a economist but this what I feel about MNREGA. 1)It's not a failed policy , it's just failed implementation. The funds were eaten up by the middlemen hence the money did not reach the workers. 2) We used our workforce in digging up wells and other stuff ,had we trained them in road construction/ manufacturing we would have been in better place.

Actually, time has come for the second level goal setting even for bottom strata people, which should be higher than goal of mnrega. Objectivity and programme integration is the key through which next level can be achieved.
