True! That's how I feel! I'm enjoying the journey at my pace. The only time I even know something is filler is when people go out of their way to tell me it is. So, in actuality, it's filler for others but not for me. If you think about it... 🤣

This is anime canon and wholesome. All fillers are good until episodes 400..yes some storyline in some fillers is a bit dragged, like Warship Island and one around ep 326 to 336.. but never bad..and whats good is that they are always in line with our journey...not a random teleport to different location in between a running arc. After 400, yes, teleport happens, but its for Movie promotion.

The funny thing is, I don't really think in terms of "filler" or "padding" or anything like that. It's just Episode 51, which is nestled between 50 and 52. Haha. I will say here, slight spoiler, this is the last single episode reaction I will do, unless it falls on a saga conclusion. So, for the viewing audience, there should be less "filler reactions" as a whole. Which would be okay with me, who doesn't really think in those terms. I'm excited to see our storm come to a head! Next reaction will be a 2 episode conclusion to Loguetown!

Haha, it's all good! I did see someone unsubscribe from this video, so they must have felt personally attacked. Haha. 🤣 It doesn't get to me, but it's always silly when it pops up because I feel like some people DO use it to dismiss or invalidate how I feel because of what they know looking back. But I'm the one looking forward. I think others are just excited for me to get to where they are. These are my people. The mimicry and sarcasm is all in good fun. I love thinking deep about things, but I also love poking fun too. Sharp mind = sharp tongue. Many more reactions to come! Recording the finale to the Loguetown arc today. No more single episode reactions either! (Unless 1 episode wraps up a major saga). We got ground (or nautical miles) to cover! These weekly shows are exhausting. Haha. Ohh, they did not translate Usopps great joke when calling Sanji over! :O I'll eyplain! You can hear him call: Ichiji, Niji, Sanji (1o'clock, 2o'clock, 3o'clock) This works because Sanji literally translates to 3o'clock :D Also I heard these character specific episodes are Anime-Canon (meaning the story came from Oda but he didn't have time to put it in the Manga or samothing). Just what I heard :)

Definitely coming soon! These weekly shows I started reacting to have definitely kept me on my toes! In a few minutes I'll be recording the season finale of Percy Jackson reaction, tomorrow I'll work in recording OP 52 & 53, and then Thursday I have Delicious in Dungeon to record to. And THEN at some point I'll have to edit it all too. Haha. But I will definitely be bringing more One Piece reactions per week out soon, but I may scale it back to one video (of multiple episode reactions) a week to avoid burnout. Phew. Time to get to work!

I mean i'm editing AMV'S myself sometimes and this is a lot of work already. And let me tell you that It's very respectable in my opinion how you can manage editing so much different shows in a short time, im kinda jealous :P. But ofc my comment wasn't meant to stress you, just take your time, especially since it is very hard in general not to get caught by the copyright algorithm. But the next Episodes building up to the peak of this arc. So as i said I can't wait for your reaction and confusion :P

Fair, but I also assume he probably gave it the greenlight, or that he met with the anime producers so that if they did write any material it would harmonize with future story beats. So, while I believe you when you say Oda didn't write this one*, I do feel like it should have an asterisk. I'm sure he had some input on some level, which is part of the greater creative process. Still, interesting to note! Thank you for sharing!

@@Noxiddar the original commenter isnt wrong, but there is a slight * that you rightfully touched on here. Far as Im aware these few fillers are in fact extensions of rough drafts Oda had that got cut in order to speed up the departure towards the Grandline. Im uncertain if the editor at the time advocated those cuts or if Oda felt they were not needed himself. Regardless, its correct that the anime staff ultimately wrote these episodes - off of notes and doodles, sure, but still correct :) Both of you!

@@Noxiddar honestly, i am not really sure about that one , but there are some filler (some you already encountered) that will contradict things in the future, not to discount that it is still a good storey and worthwhile to watch, it just trips up people when it comes to storyline and character analysis, and just so you know you have not encountered any contradictions yet, filler or otherwise.

I hate to be that person and I trully like when people react to the fillers and mostly I really enjoy them I think always a good thing to spend more time with the characters strenghten our attachement to them but sometimes there is a bit of a risk of tellings false information. For exemple in this episode (that as a Sanji fan I really like) it says that Sanji learn about the All Blue from the cooks on the ship that's not true. And it may seem like nothing big but still the filler can sometimes assume something that's not true. It's one aspect that can impact the viewing experience because in later down the line the information is different it would feel as a Retcon but it's not😅

I definitely think this is a mode of thinking from someone looking back on where they've been. I'm kind of at the start looking forward. A lot of things people tell me of their experiences way up ahead are influential (some I wish weren't so much). Reading this... this is probably one of those things that would probably go unnoticed to me. I tell people that bring up fillers all the time this: I have no idea it's a filler until someone tells me it is. It can kind of feel like in some ways I'm being told that I'm wasting my time. However, I feel like I should be able to react to videos in order and share my enjoyment of the journey that others have went on before. I shouldn't feel like I have to navigate a minefield for an audience just so I can appease some people's soft sensibilities. It doesn't always feel good when people budget how I should spend my time. Maybe your comment wasn't intended for me to read. Maybe it was just something to get off your chest. Maybe you don't realize that this is a subtle way to try to influence how I approach this journey. I don't need warnings to enjoy this story. John Paul Jones (the father of the US Navy) is quoted when petitioning for ships: "I wish to have no connection with any ship that does not sail fast; for I intend to go in harm's way." I know my heading. I know where I intend to go on this journey. If others try to influence either my heading or destination in any way they will find I no longer have any connection to them. I'm on an adventure.

@@Noxiddar oh wow maybe I haven't made myself clear I'm all for you watching at you pace that why I watch your channel I never want to dirige how you go trough your journey I thought it was clear 😔 I just wanted to respond to a comment you made to somebody else as to why some people don't like fillers and what differientes normal episodes from fillers (once again it's not my cases I love them). And yes of 'course on a first time watching you wouldn't noticed I said as much and again I don't think it's that important I just wanted to be devil's avocate and give one lil reason as to why some people don't like filler. I'm sorry if you thought that I was trying to tell how to watch the serie I honnestly wasn't I just wanted to help😥

@shadownight3030 I see now! I'm also sorry. There's certainly a level of understanding that can get lost in the comments. Yeah, from that perspective, that's actually a really good point. I apologize if my comment earlier felt specifically targeted at you. I tried to generalize it more, but maybe I didn't do a very good job. Everything is all good! I think it'll also help reduce these comments and miscommunication when I start doing more multi-epispde reactions so the focus doesn't primarily have to be on "filler" or not. Which should be coming soon!

Even though you plan on watching all the filler, i still think it's a good idea to know which episodes are filler. Perhaps, if you don't want that knowledge to influence your opinion, maybe look up if the episode is filler after viewing the episode.

I do have an honest series of questions. If someone didn't read the manga, would episodes still be considered filler? Or is it filler with the knowledge that it wasn't in the manga? Is it a filler because of relevance? Because it feels like a side story from the main story? I ask this because, to me, having that knowledge has no value. It's fun trivia people share in the comments, but it ultimately has no bearing on whether I enjoyed what I saw or not. I feel like people who want me to know if something is filler want the justification should I decide at some point I didn't like an episode or something like that. They can be like, "Don't worry, it's just filler." Not being rude or anything, I'm genuinely just curious if people are using "filler" because of a general stigma that's associated with it? It's kind of wild how every comment has touched on the notion of this being a filler, but nobody has really explained why that's important to know. It leads me to believe this has been a long game of "telephone" with everyone saying, "This is filler, pass it on." I'm not annoyed or anything. I'm actually amused. It's like a Pavlovian response.

@@Noxiddar filler in the anime is anything that wasn't in the manga. So, it wasn't written by Oda. A lot of filler is actually pretty good and adds stuff to the story that wasn't touched on in the manga, but some filler essentially haults the forward motion of the story. And, for me, you're absolutely right about why I'd like you to know if it's filler or not. I don't want you to judge One Piece based on material that wasn't in the original story written by Oda. It's no big deal. I'm excited to see your continued journey through this epic! But if you ever critique a certain episode that's filler, YOU'RE GOING TO HEAR ABOUT IT. lol
