If you remember, Sanji has always been a self-sacrificing bastard. He always values his crewmates’ lives over his own, even Zoro’s. On Drum Island during the avalanche, he ensured Luffy and Nami’s safety while getting seriously injured himself. In Skypiea, he said he wouldn’t save Usopp, but in the end, he stepped in to block Enel’s attack. In Thriller Bark, when Zoro was about to sacrifice himself, Sanji stepped in and said, “If you die, what happens to your dream?” Sanji often takes on solo missions, like in Little Garden, Alabasta, and Water 7, where he has long stretches of acting alone. So, his decision now doesn’t surprise me. His choice to handle his family issues by himself stems from the fact that he’s a self-sacrificing bastard.

When people generalize Sanji down to his perverted trope I get so angry because THIS comment is MY Sanji. Sanji’s real character is an honorable, sensitive man who’s always selfless. I would say he became this way because spoiler: He had never had anyone sacrifice themselves for his own well-being before Zeff gave him all the food when they were stranded and he was forced to eat his own leg. That was such a brutal sacrifice that Sanji vowed internally to never allow anyone he loves to sacrifice themselves to that degree again.

Yeah, even Sanji's initial refusal to leave the Baratie was a self sacrifice for Zeff, despite how misguided it was. He was sacrificing his own dreams and ambitions for the sake of taking care of Zeff and what Sanji mistakenly believed mattered the most to Zeff. He's always putting other people's well being above his own.

To be honest, I think you get too angry because you take their biggest feats and asignem them as the base value of their skill. Just because Robin is an expert in a dead language and a particular period of history doesn't mean that she knows everything about everywhere up to the motherb day; realistically, no historian does. If she knows the name and they are active now, she is far more likely to know them from the news papers (to wich only she seems to pay atention XD) or her time alone or with the revolutionaries.

He was one of the first to try to save the Minks, he was the one who decided in help Kin´emon in Punk hasard. the thing is Alicia, Sanji volunteered to face his past alone, knowing that Luffy was gonna piss off Kaido. he has faith in Luffy, but not enough for him to face off 2 of the 4 Emperors at the same time. this was a way to keep Big Mom's attention away from Luffy and the gang, so they hopefully beat Kaido first. but of course that aint how things are going down, obviously.

You think Kaido is next? Nope, it's Big Mom and Sanji backstory time. This is also known as The Sanji arc low key. And it absolutely kicks 4ss on every level. After this story Sanji jumped from outside top 10, to 6th in my favorite characters of this anime. Mindfck time about to begin. We would've been in the middle of it by Christmass as I anticipated, were it not for that 20 eps / 10 days hack delay. Well for us on youtube at least, on patreon they should be in the thick of it by Christmass. We'll see it in January, can't wait!🙉🙈

I know its about the dramatization of the situation and to give the Tank Pirates characterization moments, but it really just isn't believable when Pre-Time Skip Chopper could likely beat them. Hell it's not even believable that they could take on Nami, none of them is going be dodging lightning bolts from any feats we see from them. For clarity Nami kept up with and fought a members of CP-9 that was somewhat relevant to Gear 2 Luffy. And Chopper is has monster point as a trump card...

Everybody be clownin' on Alicia for wondering why Robin doesn't know something as an archeologist, but keep in mind Robin is more than an archeologist in terms of knowledge. She's had to rely on her wits up until a little over two years ago, and so has a plethora of modern-day knowledge that was necessary for her to stay one step ahead of everyone, and she has worked for numerous criminal organizations (though they subsequently were destroyed). It's not unreasonable to assume she might know something. That said, Robin is not all-knowing. She really seems not to pay attention to information that doesn't pertain to her dream, her friends, or something she can use to avoid capture beyond a mildly amused interest. It's like how Sherlock Holmes didn't know the earth moved around the sun, but could tell you your profession, what path you took, your hobbies, and your financial status just by looking at you for a couple minutes.
