The reason why Laurie said “He’ll show you” wasn’t because she was trying to volunteer Rick, it’s putting emphasis on how she knows her husband is a good man and his honor would compel him to go and save Merle. That’s one of my favorite things this show covers, not everything is black and white and sometimes the people we’re rooting for have to make some morally grey decisions. ​@@nym_r0ddIMO, the show was great up until season 6 (and season 9 was the only other good season after that). That being said, the show definitely changed after S3 Part 1. Like, the whole vibe of the S1, S2 and the first half of S3 was immaculate. I don't know how to describe it, but it felt so real and gritty. The rest of the show feels like a comic book (and that's not necessarily bad, I just prefer the atmosphere and storytelling of those first 3 seasons).

Lori didn't volunteer Rick to go rescue Merle, she knew without even needing to ask him that he would go. She knew that Rick is too honourable a person to leave a man to die, cuffed to a rooftop, without at least trying to rescue him. I'm pumped you guys are reacting to this show. It's full of so many moral dilemmas, tough decisions, and shocking moments that it makes for great reactions and discussions. As a longtime dedicated TWD watcher I've seen every TWD show they have ever made from the main series to all the other spin-off shows(there is like 6 spin-off shows so far TWD Universe is big) My personal favorite is Season's 1-6, and season 9 of the main series. Couple of fun facts: -in the comics, Rick is married to Andrea, not Lori -when filming the scene of Merle firing the sniper on the rooftop, passer-by’s thought it was real and called SWAT on him -the red dodger that Glenn drives is the same one Walter Jr owned in Breaking Bad -another Breaking Bad reference is Merle’s bag of drugs having a blue substance which looks like the Blue Meth from Breaking Bad

episodes 1-3 of season 1 are almost like a little self contained film, they work so well together and got everyone hooked immediately. such perfect opening to a tv show. most shows find their feet in season 1, the walking dead started at a sprint.

this is the first time i’m watching these since 2013 and it’s insane how many iconic moments happened in just the first 3 episodes, scenes that are staples in the twd lore, the most badass characters already being introduced, the drama being built… wow! made me realize how good of a show this was (yes, past tense) but also how much of it was pure luck! another funny thing was the walkers’ behavior, they are much more human in this.

Maybe not the BEST show of all time, objectively, but definitely my favorite show of all time. I was still a kid when it aired, and it was family tradition to watch new episodes every Sunday night. I remember certain episodes where even the teachers would talk about them the next day at school, it was such a huge phenomenon. And in a lot of ways, this show is what made me the way I am today. I went into art and comic making after getting into the comics that this show is based on. Super excited to see people experience it for the first time!
