I took this video at dawn. It was April at the time, so it was around 5:40AM; in July, it would be around 4:55AM. The Sannenzaka slope (thumbnail) in particular is one of the most atmospheric landscapes in Japan. If you go there at dawn, you will be able to see the beautiful scenery without crowds and take beautiful pictures. If this is your first visit to Kyoto, Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, Kinkakuji Temple, Kiyomizu Temple, Sannenzaka Hill, Bamboo Grove Path, and Toji Temple should make for a satisfying itinerary.
