Hi everyone and welcome back to my channel.
Welcome to another National Final Video, today we are looking at another one of the big five countries... ITALY!
and the potential tracks that could represent them in Rotterdam 2021
That's right... Today we are looking at Sanremo, the biggest music festival in Italy and the 13 potential representatives and their original tracks of night 1.
But what I really want to know is.... What do you guys think? Do any of these song stand out to you?

max gazze is a musical storyteller. he uses in his texts very committed and refined, almost philosophical, phrases. usually in the performances he disguises himself, here as Leonardo da vinci, then as Dalì and in the last one as Clark Kent

Nah, it's not that Stadio wasnt interested, they weren't able to go because of their tour dates. It coincided with the eurovision dates therefore they weren't able to go. So it was given to Francesca, the second place.

@@solinvictus1234 anybody has a cardboard cutout of Marty Feldman as Igor in Young Frankenstein and a long coat similar to the philosophy football match skit by the monty python is a soul brother to me! I'd love the full lyrics but I understand the concept of clever word play with all sorts of chemical and alchemical substances (I believe the trifluoro etc is used for schizophrenia? Which is hilarious in context with the staging) , and I love the tune. I had it stuck in my head all morning and trying not to wave my arms about while singing la soluzioooone (what with sitting on a horse and all 🤣)

@@marietg8025 Cause Gazzè is firstly a songwriter then a singer. To make you a perfect example it's like it was with Bob Dylan and Fabrizio De Andrè, Dylan wan internationally renowed and he won a Nobel cause he was singing in English but the less famous Fabrizio De Andrè that was singing in Italian was, according to most, even better than Bob Dylan as songwriter, as for example also the French George Brassens was better than Dylan and at the same level of De Andrè but both wasn't singing in english. In few words, if you are a foreigner that know Italian you can feel the song text and have a really different prospective.

I actually feel the same... but I'm biased 😁 Now that I know all the 26 songs, I can say I have 2 top-3's: one for Sanremo itself and one for our ESC entry. *Welcome to Sanremo!* Also thanks for the mention! (Grazie per la menzione! 😂) YES! Finally it's Italy moment! 🇮🇹 There are many things to say about this edition, but first TOP 13! (my opinion) *1. Maneskin - Zitti e buoni* Can we just say they're the italian Blind Channel cousins? 🤣 Ok, stop joking! They've chances to represent Italy in Eurovision! The topic, the lyrics, the voice, the presence and the power is OVER 9000! I had finger crossed for them after I read every information about their entry and BOOM! I'm crazy for this song! *2. Colapesce & Dimartino - Musica leggerissima* For someone could be surprised this is my 2nd favourite. It's something about own traditions, because Italy has not only one tradition. I think this song could be a dark horse for Sanremo, also for the topic. I love this song, also because it's something kinda "folk" *3. Madame - Voce* I'm only sorry she decided to use autotune, because there's a great voice inside, but I can respect that. Also the beat is great, to be only 19 she has power and passion (she's the youngest of this edition) *4. Max Gazzè - Il farmacista* I loved your reaction! 🤣🤣 Max is a genius here! Ok, it's a little bit cringy, but this is so crazy! With that outfit, it's a mix between Leonardo da Vinci and... Verka Serduchka? Seriously, he has a number and the name on the back! Lyrically and the topic, it's a monster! *5. Annalisa - Dieci* Sorry for Annalisa fans, but I doubt for this song. Lyrically is ok but the meaning is not particular, but I cannot deny the passion. If there's one thing I love about Annalisa is her voice! So happy she was taken, but it's not strong as "Io Prima di Te" (that was a banger!) *6. F. Michielin & Fedez - Chiamami per nome* Mahmood is here! No, really! This is written by Mahmood along to the singers! Even I would expect more from them, but still is a good. Francesca has so much passion and voice inside and Fedez got emotions singing in Sanremo *7. Coma_Cose - Fiamme negli occhi* I think this is the most cute song at the moment, they're also a couple in real life. So simple but good like a song for a trip *8. Aiello - Ora* Aiello has so much passion and power... maybe too much?! Honestly, his voice is so particular, also thanks to his accent that makes it more close to his traditions. But he pulled too much, also he needs to improve something because the song is not bad *9. Ghemon - Momento perfetto* Funky, jazz, rap, this could be a little cheesy song, but I enjoy it *10. Fasma - Parlami* I think this is going to be higher fory tastes, even... you know, AUTOTUNE (even that's his style in every song). Comparing to Madame, that's too much for me. It's rap/rock, but something is not so right with that *11. Noemi - Glicine* This is not bad, but I'm not a huge Noemi fan. I liked some of her songs in the past, but that's not the best for me. Great voice, great passion, but the flatness is also close *12. Arisa - Potevi fare di più* Scusate ragazzi! Her voice is amazing, I can feel her passion. But I feel this song, not only it's flat to me but also it's too dramatic. Like the title said *You could have done more* Well! I could have said something like this for her. Really sorry Arisa! *13. Francesco Renga - Quando trovo te* I think Francesco needs to improve something. But I got many "sempre" that my ears cannot stand. I'm not destroying him, don't get me wrong! His voice is very beautiful and I like his style, but I find it really cheesy SO! This is my personal top 13 *(and watching the 2nd night and... OMG! At the moment the entries are strong!)* I'm really liking this Sanremo, even some entries are not interesting. I love the diversity and also that's a new era for Sanremo! Finally this is a Sanremo 2.0 with many young talents and modern music (after mostly senior participants)! A stage really cool and the talent is always somewhere here! I cannot just thanks the artistic director, also presenter, Amadeus to have chosen these songs. And also him and his friend Fiorello are two nature forces on the stage with their humor! The variety is huge, I cannot wait to see who will win because Italy can get a nice entry again! 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹 *Buona fortuna ragazzi!* That's all!

I'm looking so much forward to see, what Italy sends this year, Italy is one of my favorite Eurovision countries, and they rarely disappoint. Three of my favorite Eurovision songs are Italian: Italy 1987, 1997 and 2015. 🙂

I don't understand Italian, some words. I listened Max Gazzè with his song and I tell anybody this song would stand out at ESC because it is unique and genius, it is nice , sweet and funny. The outfit is Leonardo da Vinci and everybody would have remembered it. I like the melody, 12 points from The Netherlands . I recommend listen the whole song, it is an earworm, repeatable.

I read somewhere that "Il Farmacista " is a criticism of easy solutions. This one and Willie Peyote's song are brilliant satire songs. Diodato and Ghemon made a duet version of Ghemon's "Rose Viola". It's great. I love Sanremo! With the traditional and classy elements combined with the more modern genres, it seems like it's a very interesting time for this festival.

Yes, Italy always had so outstanding and different songs at least in the past decade . Still a little sad that Soldi didn’t win. But I loved Non me avete fatto niente, occidentalis karma, l‘essenziale, etc. too 💕 they deserve a win already. But to be honest, this years entry is not my personal favorite, just doesn’t match my own taste (doesn’t mean it’s not a good song)

A lot of good ones, but some of them would be better without the autotune. My favorite is the rock song, zitti e buoni(or how it's spelled) it is so good!!! At least from the clip. 😄 By the way, Fedez made a song with Mika some years ago. 🙂

Great channel! Funny and passionate comments :) But when talking about Sanremo you should consider not using the term 'backing track'. Because there is no pre-recorded music in this show, just 100 % live music played by the amazing Sanremo-orchestra. I suggest 'backing music' , 'the orchestral backing' or simply 'the orchestra' instead

Sanremo is not a national selection, who goes to Sanremo wants to win Sanremo, if they win they can choose if they go to ESC or not. In 2016 Francesca Michelin represented Italy, but the winners of Sanremo were Stadio. And Italy didn't participate from 1998 to 2010, but there was Sanremo because it's not a national selection for us Italians. And Sanremo has more years then ESC (Sanremo was born in 1951, ESC in 1956) and ESC was inspired by Sanremo. So please don't call Sanremo national selection, we Italians choose who they want to win Sanremo, not who they want to send at Eurovision. Sanremo is not a national selection, Sanremo is the Italian Music Festival. Excuse me if I made any mistakes.
