The first song is in Arabic where we talk about migrants in the Mediterranean, the second is a Ghali's song, it is a kind of praise to Italy, the third is a song by Toto Cutugno where he says "let me sing because I am an Italian , a true Italian and I'm proud of it" what Ghali did was a real social denunciation, it was something powerful!

The last song "L'Italiano" was presented in 1983 at Sanremo Festival by Toto Cutugno, who sadly died on August 2023. The song is very famous around the World, that's why it sounds familiar to you.. Ghali sung it to underline that he feels and HE IS is a "true Italian" despite being born by Tunisian parents, as you said. This was one of my favorite performances of the Cover night.

Just wanted to chip in and say that in his song Casa mia Ghali talked about the absurd current state of the world, the way people (especially in Italy) are treating conflicts such as the israeli-palestinian one as if it doesn't concern them, and whenever people try to protest against it, they are either censored or filed as 'violent' by the police (even if the protests are peaceful in nature). Not only that, despite being born and raised in Italy, Ghali has Tunisian origins and this is enough in Italy for being discriminated by bigots. That's why the way Ghali performed this song, singing an introduction in Arabic, and repeating "sono un italiano vero" (I'm a true Italian) was especially touching. It's a statement of his true and rightful identity, against those who think that people like him should ""returnt to their own country"". Ghali brought not just a song to this Sanremo festival, he brought humanity.

The way he keeps repeating he is Un Italiano Vero, a true Italian, was very moving. He was born in Italy to Tunisian parents, but by Italian law, being born here does not make you Italian, like in the U.S. for example. The song was a huge hit in the 80's, and the original author and singer, Toto Cutugno, passed last summer.

The first song is called Bayna and the first verse is sung in Arabic. The second song is Cara Italia and they are both by Ghali. The third song is L'italiano by Toto Cutugno and the way Ghali interpreted it is very emotional ❤❤ Ghali is a great artist, he was born in Italy to Tunisian parents and is a true Italian ❤

Thank you so much for this video, guys! ❤ This was probably the most powerful message sent through Sanremo. Ghali is an Italian born from Tunisian parents. The first part of the medley is sung in Tunisian Arabic and it's called "Bayna", which is also the name given to a boat that he purchased and gifted to an humanitarian association who takes care about saving lives to the immigrants in the Mediterranean Sea. A gift to his mum's origins. The second song is his song, called "Cara Italia", where is says that Italy is like his second mom and he expresses his love for the Country where he was born. The third is "L'Italiano" from Toto Cotugno, super famous song, where he finally says to everybody I am an Italiano Vero = A True Italian. So powerful message ❤
