"They are children, Sansa thought. They are silly little girls, even Elinor. They've never seen a battle, they've never seen a man die, they know nothing. A character thrown into the world of cruelty and monstrosities, without family, friends, security nor love, who somehow managed to keep her gentle heart even after all they did to her. A young girl with crushed dreams, hopes and body, who chose to keep going despite all the horrors she had to endure. Someone who shies away from violence because of her tenderness, even after all the violence she witnessed and felt on her own skin. That isn't as cool as swinging your sword or riding dragons, but it is brave, and it takes a lot of strength. Surviving is sometimes even harder work than fighting. Sansa Stark is a survival, and a heroic one at that, and that's what she'll keep doing until the very end. So many fought and so many lost, but Lady Stark, you may survive them yet.

Sansa’s always had a baseline understanding of navigating politics, even before her father was murdered in front of her. We see it from the moment she lies about not knowing what happened between Arya, Joffrey, and the butchers boy. She understood why she always had to publicly take Joffrey’s side. She always knew when it was appropriate to lie and to whom. Whether it was to Cersei about her loyalty to Joff, to the knights of the Vale about Baelish killing her aunt Lysa, or to Jon about partnering with Baelish to bring the knights of the Vale into the fold for the battle of the bastards. There’s always been a politician in her just waiting to come out.

I like it how people who always try to find the reason to bash on Sansa point out that she is a sadist and psychopath cause she watched Ramsay getting eaten to death, but seem to forget how Daenerys coldly watched her own brother's head being melted, as died in agony. I love this! People like to put down Sansa's character saying she's weak and annoying. To them if she's not killing people like Arya is she's not cool. But people tend to forget that if it had been anyone else in the Stark family, they wouldn't have survived what she went through in King's Landing and Winterfell. There's no way Arya or Jon, while I love them, could have survived the political machinations that Sansa endured, they're too blunt. That's why she's a favorite of mine, even though she's severely underestimated. Thank you for perfectly portraying that in this video!

Well I think Sansa gets some of the hate cuz people keep wanting to compare her to modern-day girls. During a similar time frame in the real history, woman would have been brought up to look for husband have kids that would have been their future the thing they fantasized about. I doubt very seriously modern day women would have survived not the situation, and unfortunately there's only so much the show can have come across, she is more aware what happens at court then what she lets on and plays on their opinion of her. Biggest thing as well people tend to forget she was only 12 when she was forced to marry Tyrion in the books I know the show had an age difference but they had to keep the character resembling the book side to some degree
@ShanghaiRooster5 жыл бұрын
Sansa survived King's Landing because she took the Hound's advice, 'Save yourself some pain, girl. Give him what he wants'. So, she recited the lines her septa taught her, like a 'good little bird', and didn't give the Lannisters an excuse to hurt or kill her. In a way, she had to live as Dany had had to with Viserys before he sold her to the Dothraki.

She did have spirit I give her that. I just cant for the life of me figure out why she didn't tell Jon about The Knights of the Vale. Jon gave her several opportunities and I was holding my breath waiting for her to tell Jon that she requested aid from them but nothing.. I hated Sansa in season 1 (just as most people), she suffered so much that I was rooting for her. UNTIL, she lied to Jon, her own family. Jon, gullible Jon. Lets see were the remaining of her story takes us.
@MayumiSaegusaShiba7 жыл бұрын
If Ramsey KNEW that the Knights of the Vale were present, which he definitely would have, afterall, it's hard to hide one of the biggest armies in the continent, do you think he would have fought them? Definitely not. He would hide inside Winterfell and wait for Jon's camp to die off. Jon camp would never survive a seige, surprise was the best route. Though I do think she should have at least told Jon that she called the Vale, it's understandable that she didn't, given he never really thought anything about her opinions (repeatedly rejected her plea of getting more people) and the uncertainty that the Vale would even come at all. I actually hope she'd be the opposite of Jon, it would be what the North needs. They need a cool, rational head that would think before they act. Sansa's exactly that.

I believe that the part in the video was the part where (Spoilers) Sansa freed Ramsey's dogs and they devoured him and it just fit there and if it wasn't that part, then it was another part where Sansa wanted to look away but decided to still watch and it was just genius to put that quote for a scene with Sansa, because of their family bonding. It's just a thing that fits. We often believe that our loved ones are still somewhere around to keep an eye on us, even though they are already gone. It reminds us that they never really leave us after their death, but still keep being around us and for that, the quote was just geniusly placed :)

He was her teenage crush, she dreamed of marrying the prince and one day becoming queen just like every other girl her age. I literally cannot stand people who hate and want Sansa to die because of her actions in book one and season one. She was naive and a goody two shoe, she thought she could trust the queen who had been her idol at the time. If anything I think people hate Sansa because she's the most realistic and she isn't fiery like the other women in the show. She didn't get her dad killed. Ned signed his death warrant the second he told Cersei he knew her secret. And even so...she has paid for her mistakes. She was getting abused in King's Landing, the show actually kind of downplays how badly and often she is hit by Joffrey's Kingsguard, on top of having to pretend her family are traitors in order to survive. Also I think people forget Sansa tried pushing Joffrey off the ledge.

She's been shown nothing but cruelty but she still cares about people. This video is beautifully, epically, wonderfully edited. I love the quotes and clips you used. And LOVE the quote at the end - genius! Your use of zoom in/out and transitions always make your videos a pleasure to watch. You showed her fight and determination but also her pain, grief, and suffering. You did her character justice :')

if i had a friend who knew nothing of game of thrones, nothing about sansa, i'd show them this. this is character story-telling at its best. bravo.

Loved this! Sansa is easily my favorite character on the show, which is funny, because I despised her in season 1, but during season 2, I had a massive change of heart once I realized her role. She has had the biggest amount of character progression. Amazing job on this!

"Don't look away. Father will know if you do." "In my experience, girls like her don't live very long." "I don't think you know many girls like her." *happy cries*

People hating on sansa mostly because she's feminine, tender hearted, unlike how strong women portrayed these days with guns and all the killing. I always think a woman doesn't have to use weapon or go to battle field, or act like men. I mean if u see girly, tender, patient woman as weak but u think only woman who acts like men is strong, then you're the one who hates your gender, you're the one who's ashamed to be a woman.

Exactly. Not every woman is going to be an Arya or a Brienne of Tarth. But those are not the only ways to be strong. Also, people like to ignore that Daenerys was a lot like Sansa in the beginning. But she just found her resilience a lot faster and then she had dragons.

So good! Sansa's my fave, too. I agree with everything you said. Every time I hear someone hate on her, it only feeds my love for her and makes it grow stronger. I love this so much!

I absolutely love this video! I’ve watched it over and over tonight. It’s so awesome that you ended it the way you did. I remember how she once told Robyn that girls didn’t take part in the punishing of criminals where she was from. When I heard Jon’s words to Bran echoed while she watched Ramsay be eaten by his dogs, I cried. Watching Sansa learn about what humans can do to one another, watching her innocent naivety being ripped to shreds was masterfully done. You are an artist in my eyes. Thank you!

If it were anyone else, they would've broken a long time ago. But not Sansa. All that pain and suffering only forged her into the true Queen of the North.
