I was using the 2k rule for my Triber but the result I received was not upto my satisfaction. Now, I am using the gear shift indicator on the dashboard and I found visible improvement in mileage.

Are you able to upshift smoothly? I have been having troublev especially while upshifting to gear 2 and 3. The car rocks or given a stalling feedback. The upshift seems a bit smoother when I do it right at the moment recommended by the dashboard. Do you have same problem? I have driven Ford Ecosport, Maruti Ritz and Swift. Gear shift used to be so smooth. I can understand what am I missing here.

​@@yuvaraj80 2nd to 3 gear engagement in Triber is very bad. There's a huge gap in the Shift because 2nd gear is short but 3rd gear is long then short 4th and 5th. Triber needs 6th gear for Final Drive 5o allow smooth cruising at 2500 to 3000 rpms in 100kmph.

@@JohnDoe-zj6xf i figured some trick after having driven for close to 2 years now. I used to throttle less before the shifts, especially from 1 to 2 to 3. But if you give more revs (not so high) the shifting is comparatively smooth. Try and let me know.

2k rule did worked for me I used to get 11 km per litre mileage on my city ride (Kalyan to Thane and return) This rainy season it reduced to below 10 (8-9). After following 2k rule for last 1-2 weeks now i am getting more than 11.5 mileage in the same route. Going to follow this longer time and highways now and will see how much it gives. Thanks. [Update, a week after] Today i reached 14.5 mileage in the same route. Though as rain almost stopped traffic is reduced. Still i never used to get something like this before. It used to be always around 11.

follow the universal rules of driving... don't try to do this 👍🏻

Yes you can because of gear synchronisers, which will wear each time you do that, then after some time the synchronisers will be totally gone and putting in gear will become very difficult.
