Santa Ana Tianguistengo

El municipio cuenta con diferentes monumentos arquitectónicos construidos por los misioneros agustinos, situados en diferentes puntos del municipio; de los más antiguos que se tiene en la cabecera municipal es la construcción de la Iglesia que fue en el año de 1540 dedicada a Santa Ana Tianguistengo adscrita a la doctrina de Molango, la parroquia desde su construcción contó con una bóveda de cañón bien adornada así como sacristía y bautisterio. Su primer encargado Fray Pedro de Agurto; en este lugar se encontraba un convento de San Agustín con Cura de dicha orden, como anexo un cuerpo de construcción con entrada y dos bodegas en las bajas y tres piezas altas destinadas al curato, antiguo patio y tres cuartos.

Hola Alberto. I can tell from your video that you really enjoy these local fairs. The residents seem to love them too. A nice historic document. 50 years ago the road to Tianguistengo was dirt and gravel, and I chose to instead visit Metztitlan, one of Mexico's most important conventos, and Molango, which I love for the picturesque setting of its partially ruined convento. I wonder if any effort has been made to restore it? Metztitlan had a mosquito problem. After depositing my bag in my hotel room the young man who led me there told me to come back in an hour. He then proceeded to start spraying the room with DDT. Do you remember the hand sprayers with the little bottles of DDT attached at the base? You won't see that today. Both towns are great, as are their conventos. There was no sign of organized tourism back then, no little stalls selling tourist souvenirs. When I saw the title of this video I at first thought of Santiago Tianguistenco, near Toluca. The town has an interesting church and a market. I have a photo of inflated pig skins being sold in the market. I suppose each skin has had its fill of pulque many times over. When I took the photo I didn't know what the inflated skins were used for. Hello to Adriana. Stay well.

Good morning William, yes, I really have a lot of fun with those traditions that are preserved only in places like the original peoples of Mexico, that tradition is already being lost in the cities, Metztitlán has just been named a magical town and yes, its former convent has been restored very well in fact I have a video of there, also of Mezquititlán, mosquitoes are no longer a problem there, the DDT bombs you mention of course I remember, my parents sent me to the store to refill it hehe, I also I confused in the video saying Santiago Tianguistengo hehe thinking about the town you mention in Edomex, receive greetings from my family friend.
