It will make sense if you are on something really steep as the bike is more naturally weighted to the rear so you have to get less back behind the seat to achieve the same weight distribution. Also a tiny bit easier to change direction as less mass and centrifugal force, also lets you get your weight lower before it hits the tire.

Hate they make CC frame wireless only. I usually buy bare frame and build with preferred parts. CC is almost always only option for this and I 100% have zero interest in using wireless. Means this is a no go for me. PF BBs, headset routed cables and wireless only shifting big no nos for me.

My problem with electronic shifting is I can’t remember to charge the damn batteries. I’m not against it on an industry level. Just a personal one because it doesn’t work for me. Seems silly to limit drivetrains simply because you don’t have a hole in the frame for a cable.

I may need some help here. As a V4 owner....when comparing the two bikes....the V5 actually has a greater FC/RC ratio than the V4. Quick question, at the end you said who this bike is for and called out specifically shorter riders looking for a more tame riding style. Santa Cruz's VPP has never offered the same small bump traction versus horst/4 bar/DW/split pivot unless they alter the anti squat signicantly but where they shine is consecutive square hits and medium bumps with a stout frame. Too bad frame only is CC and it lacks cable routing and the shoc tunnel seems just as high as the previous Bronson limiting a longer dropper despite he shock being lower not to mentioned the beefier weight. The previuos Bronson V4 was fantastic for tighter tracks and rocky descents while maintaining a sporty suspension and I see some R builds for $3400 USD. Hopefully bike manufactures will focus on using their corporate powers on more trail accessibility and friendlier prices and easier maintainence frame designs and not so much on gadgets and gizmo the average and even privateers riders don't need. And Conner, you wouldn't have washed out if it wasn't a DW link :) J/K speedy recovery.

@@bikersedge broke my left collarbone back in 2021 and didn’t have surgery. I just let the bone heal naturally. I have a big bump but i have full range of motion. I feel your pain and I hope yours heals as good so you get full range of motion again.

which santa cruz for 6 foot 3 rider ? small jumps

Height shouldn’t really be the deciding factor for the bike you buy. It’s going to depends on how and where you like to ride. Go check out our what MTB should you buy video if you want more on that.

Bronson V5 or Transition Patrol?

Haven’t ridden a new patrol. Wouldn’t be able to tell you.

Fck man, hope you are okay! Getting injured like that, esp if you are alone sounds like the nightmare! That's why I always hold a few % back. I witnessed once an mtb guide that crashed so badly she had to get airlifted, broke practically her whole upper body... Probably would've died if she was alone.

I know you are fancy new numbers but I call this BS. Just calculated ratio between front and back end; V4 in XL WB - 1284, CS 442 ratio is c. 1.905 V5 WB 1299, CS 446 ratio c. 1.912. This can be expressed in % as well V4 34.42% vs V5 34.33%. Conclusion is that V4 has got longer CS for given seize then V5. Given that difference is so minimal I seriously doubt that you could feel it at all. It’s just a bigger bike but then if you want plush and stable why not go for Nomad instead!?
@bikersedgeАй бұрын
In relation to reach the rear center is now longer than it used to be. 442/500 for the V4 and 445/500 for the V5.

current nomad has incredibly similar geo to the new bronson. bronson also has a 57.5mm stroke shock. new nomad is just an increase stroke shock and longer travel fork? might be a move to consolidate manufacturing between two models
@bikersedgeАй бұрын
@@jlh530i1 I’d imagine there will be changes to the nomad that will differentiate the two in the future.
