Just a quick check over all the parts that make up my 2018 Santa Cruz Jackal! It's been super fun to own and I think I ride it more often than my Enduro bike haha.

if it was my bike i would change the saddle to a bit of a bmx style seat because i think it suits dirt jumpers more
@nathanceriseconcepcion28976 жыл бұрын
I prefer skinnier saddle because it looks alot more aggressive and aerodynamic but yeah i do like the pivotal seats but only for my bmx so yeah imo
@sandy_knight3 жыл бұрын
I prefer a seat you can grip with your knees, like an SDG Apollo.

Hope to run into you one day again and while riding DJs at Stafford, Lake Cunningham, or Pleasanton BMX park. Sick bike, love it. I have a P.26 with Diety bars, stem, seat, Profile hubs, cranks, and Manitou Circus coil. Although I love my bike this is the frame set I want because of the tapered head tube and threaded BB.
@zer0bytes20006 жыл бұрын
Nice build. Don't need to change anything, but... I love my stealth hubs on my bmx, so I would change up the hubs for instant engagement and silent riding. Thanks for showing us another side!

So sick. Please love the videos. Keep it coming maybe an enduro for beginners series. That would be super cool. I’m going to say like $850

I think it’s sick dude! If it were my dj bike I wouldn’t change a thing at all. Good the way it is for sure. I do think you would fit in quite well with that Carhart shirt here in NC. You could shred the dj in your Carhart shirt and get steezy with it! Haha no but sick bike man and can’t wait to see what the new bike is you have on the way!

Nice. I'm at Cunningham park every weekend. The jumps are well maintained on Monday and Tuesdays when they are closed for maintenance. The pump track is dialed in and well packed. Dual slalom track is bumpy as I believe it's just watered down during the week. I think they should've built more dirtjumps in there instead of the track. The slope style jumps are dialed in as well. Hope to see you there someday.
@stevenbarajas5634 жыл бұрын
Holy shit haha. sometime around a year ago i ran into you and your jackal in watsonville, CA at pinto lake pump track. You mentioned you had an interview at specialized later that day, hope it worked out for you man! thanks for letting me ride the jackal too lol

If I changed anything I’d have to say Deity bars, stem, seat, etc etc. I’m biased because almost 100% of my dj components are deity, including frame. But I love their stuff, it’s some of the best out there in my opinion.

I would change the seat and seat post to a pivotal post and a big DJ seat like the Gusset s2 also the tyres I would put Maxxis DTH front and rear and probably cranks I would change them to the Shimano DXR cranks with a Hope 32t chainring. Also I would run a longer brake hose to wrap around the head tube for barspins and baller points

Super nice bike - $700. My DJ cost me $100 nzd and even with upgrading the brakes, wheels, tyres, stem, grips and pedals it still only cost $400 nzd. That's perfect for me, since I can't jump for shit!
@mtbboy19936 жыл бұрын
this looks like a robust bike, I approve of Renthal :-) I got hte same stem, stem holds on to the bar super long. IF it was mine I woudl swap the pedals to Pedalling innovations Catalyst. they are the only pedal to get, it would make a huge difference for a dirt jump bike, you will be much more stable, so on jumps you wont ''sink'' as much on landings, and of course you sohudl use mid foot position. or saddle to Fabrric Scoop, but s a DJ bike, so it's not nessesary.

Jared Lamb never too old to start! I ride hard enduro on dirt bikes with a 71 year old, he still gets better every ride! Start on pumptracks and work your way up to DJ’s. Skateparks are extremely dangerous, in my opinion. Probably best to just master the basics on a pumptrack and bring those skills to dj’s
