Santa Fe 2013 to 2020 LED Daytime Running Light Remove & Repair Tutorial - Fix Hyundai DRL all in 4K

Learn how to remove and repair your Hyundai Daytime Running Light (DRL). This video will show you how to remove the Santa Fe daytime running light safely by either accessing through the wheel arch or by dropping the bumper from your car to access the DRL. I then go into how to repair the LED daytime running light by simply soldering on new resistors (or the old ones if they are still in the light and not damaged).
The LED daytime running lights on the Hyundai are expensive and fail due to dry solder joints on several resistors inside the light itself this means removing the DRL light from the Hyundai and completing the repair by re-soldering the resistors back on.
I recommend watching the video completely first before attempting this repair.

My daughter's 2013 Sante Fe sport has fog lights in the bumper. Her DRL are above the headlight. Anyhow, she gently rear ended someone and the only thing broken was the passenger fog light. This video was exactly what I needed to replace it. Yes, the window washer tank was in the way but also some thin steel so I feel I would've had to partially pull bumper out anyways as you instructed. Great video.

Excellent video. Nearside DRL stopped working on my 2013 Santa Fe - where abouts are the 4 screws to access from the wheel arch area without having to remove the front bumper? Started having a look, but maybe not in the right place.... Any pointers (or even images) much appreciated

great video watched once and was able to easily sort mine. I found another video where i ound out what resistors to use as a replacement and it was 4.7 Ohm 1Watt. saving of £250 minus the cost of a mico solder set from amazon

Hi , nice work and saved a few £ ss Wait till you try the number plate light bulbs , you end up taking the tail gate cover off in side as the screws have rusted in the clips , 4 hrs later and 2 bulbs for £7 . Must say MY 2009 and the 2012 have been great cars , but the 2009 had the slave cylinder go for the clutch at 110,000 miles engine gear boxes out £££ , but still on the original disc and pads and only on the second set of tyres . The 2012 needed a new clutch on delivery at only 182 miles a factory fault . Thanks for your video .

Hey man, they turn on automatically when engine is running but light switch is off (on 0)... Most lilkely both of your leds are dead. I got only one working on mine... :P

I've just replaced mine. I used four 4.7ohms resistors. I used ones with legs on that were physically the same size. I bent the legs so the resistors were sitting 5mm off the board. This means that they can cool better so they won't get too hot and fall off again.

Could do to mention the wattage rating of the replacement resistors. The reason for initial failure is that the resistor wattage rating is too low. A minimum of quarter watt required. I actually used half watt but they did take up more space and it was a tight fit.

The lights come in when the ignition is turned in there is no switch for the Day time running lights on the Hyundai Santa Fe
