We live in Los Alamos, 45 miles north of Santa Fe, and in all my years I've never tired of visiting the plaza, shopping, and frequenting the many restaurants there. For anyone interested, the entire story of the staircase in the Loretto Chapel is truly amazing. There's so much more to the city and its culture, but with a time limit, it's hard to get to! I guess I missed you guys going into the capitol building! I enjoyed your visit there. I enjoy ALL of your video's! Thanks! ~ Mrs. C. ☯☮

That staircase is truly a miracle that I read about long ago. When Nic was lighting a vigil candle, she crossed herself, revealing her Catholic background. I’m Catholic too. Are you, Joe? Thanks for the fabulous video!🎉😊🙏🏻🕊

My very liberal hometown. Grew up there in the 70s and 80s. Much different now. My great great grandfather homesteaded there from Jefferson City, in the late 1800s; another place you featured. Love your videos! Merry Christmas.

Oh yeah I lived in Santa Fe for 4 years and now I live 20 miles east in Pecos and it gets in the negative numbers all throughout the winter months and several feet and of snow at times. The winter before I moved to Santa Fe they said they got 6 foot of snow and they were shut down for 2 weeks. You get used to it though although the snow always sucks after you've shoveled it as much as I have over the past few decades.

I went to boarding school in Santa Fe in the 1950s, right next to the San Miguel mission. Our school was called St. Michael's. I would go to Mass at the oldest church daily. Sorry you missed it, maybe on your next visit to Santa Fe.

I was born and raised in east Texas and a few decades ago I moved to Santa Fe and lived there for 4 years and now I live 20 miles east of Santa Fe in Pecos NM. You should look me up next time you plan on doing a video of the area and I can give you details and places to go that most outsiders aren't aware of. New Mexico is the land of enchantment and the magic is more enchanting the more you know or who you know here.. Best state in the country but don't tell anyone we like it like it is not many people and miles of wilderness and desert..

Somewhere near the town square--on it and opposite the Palace of the Governors, as I recall--was a Firestone Store. The store was there in the 40s and on into the 50s. It was owned by my father's father, a Texas and New Mexico builder who would become the chielf contractor for the International Style Sims Building in Albuqerque. For parts of the 40s and 50s I lived in Santa Fe.

Since you were going to Las Vegas, Nevada, you could have driven 66 miles east and gone to Las Vegas, N.M., The Original Las Vegas, where Doc Holliday was run out of town for killing someone who was shooting up his saloon in 1879.

If you stay in SF again, try the Drury downtown. It used to be the hospital! A few ghosts are known to inhabit the place!

The staircase is a work of art, the man must have been quite the carpenter to be able to pull that off, the chapel is beautiful to.

Lived near Santa Fe for many years, always enjoy strolling around the historic section. I believe one interpretation of the story of the staircase is the mystery carpenter was Joseph (Jesus' father). He was a fine carpenter, whoever he was.
