Seems like a movie with a creative premise that got bogged down in cliches.

This has nothing to do with this movie; happy 10th anniversary to the movie, I guess. Ever since Side Hustle ended, the last narrative driven live action show from Nickelodeon OR Disney Channel that stayed decent the whole way through AND isn't a spinoff or sequel series is The Villains of Valley View. And it's over. Along with Sydney to the Max, Ultra Violet and Black Scorpion, Secrets of Sulphur Springs, all cancelled with unanswered questions. At least SOSS's was satisfactory and open ended. I didn't love Saturdays but that ending was really sad. Personally, the market of the industry that’s suffering the most compared to any other market are family friendly media. From KZbin disabling comment sections of even the oldest videos that just so happen to have no sex, violence or cuss words, some may even be old enough that adults would only know about them. Or Victor Zsasz or whatever his name is influencing companies into purging talented people’s hard work from availability just to save money, many of which being animated and/or kid-friendly. Or tv networks, cable or streaming, making no effort advertising or even preserving their content including content meant for families or at least the better ones and replacing them with either content that does the bare minimum or doesn’t even try to improve that gets rewarded for multiple renewals (Young Dylan) or revivals/reboots/sequels of their parent’s’ favorite shows. Or at the most, older sibling’s’ favorite shows (The Really Loud House, Teen Titans Go). I don't care how excited I was for Wizards Beyond Waverly Place or Phineas & Ferb or Alice in the Palace or The Fairly OddParents A New Wish or other revivals including from Cartoon Network. The originals matter just as much. The last kids shows I know of that was respected enough to end on their own terms was Raven’s Home which was, of course, a sequel show. A decent sequel show, but still. And on the cartoon side was Amphibia. It’s not one of my top favorite shows ever but I understand why it is to everyone else. As far as the networks’ movie franchises, I have no hope for the Descendants franchise, I’m a little worried about the Zombies franchise and the Monster High movies… I’m in my late 20s and I feel terrible for kids right now because adult executives blatantly hate anything they can write off as kids stuff like animation, even if it’s for adults. This era for children’s media has been crap since 2019 when Andi Mack got cancelled, Cameron Boyce died tragically and the live action Lion King became the highest grossing “animated” movie of all time made by a filmmaker who doesn’t even call it animated! At least Inside Out 2 outgrossed them this year! And I'm expecting it to get worse for a long time before it'll get better. Which is why I’m more than supportive for the decent kids shows we have that are getting another season which are Percy Jackson and The Olympians (some of the book fans don’t like it and I never read the books so what I do I know) or My Adventures With Superman (I don’t care if it’s on Adult Swim; it’s every bit as family friendly as the DCAU and looking at the company that owns the show, it’s probably stuck there to avoid getting tax write-offed.) I guess Big City Greens and Bluey are still here, too. One more thing, there’s this KZbin channel called Pop Arena who makes this show by show retrospective on the history of Nickelodeon called Nick Knacks. And a subseries called Nick Knacks Sample Platter where he takes requests on any episode of any show that’s ever aired on the channel for him to review. Would be awesome to get him to talk about an episode of Side Hustle or Warped! or The Astronauts! I recommend his channel in general, not just Nick Knacks.
