In order for that to work, the company would have to be financially unstable. Sonic a multi billion dollar franchise and fans have always looked forward to every new media. Disney won’t be able to handle the angry toxic Sonic fans that would harass the company and even receive death threats which would be too risky.

The fact that Sonic is busting up Mufasa notwithstanding, Disney has actually been advised to buy out a games studio some time ago, and Sega is certainly full of fancy IPs, so they would be a choice.

just a quick correction it was paramount who fixed the design ,sega never liked that orignal design but since they already made a deal and contract about the movies rights with paramount they couldn't do anything ,and as for why it changed it wasn't because "sonic fans" but because the entire internet and gaming community absolutely would not watch this movie just because of the blue rat they saw making sure that the project is going to be a flop financially ,and for that the redesign HAD to happen to please the potential audience for the film and sonic fans with one stone to ensure financial success

@@2ndspringtube708 True. I did mix up paramount and Sege with the og design for the sonic movies. But my point of people banning together to change the design still stands. Those same people would probably boycott any new Sonic media if Disney took it over. But yes my mistake. I forgot it was Paramount and not Sega. Thank you for pointing that out.

Sega should know that Disney doesn’t do gaming the most they’ve done in the gaming market is kingdom hearts, which is pretty successful, but Disney has said they don’t do gaming much. They said they wanted to expand into it eventually but again other than kingdom hearts, Disney games haven’t really been successfulso I guess should know that they should keep on with this sonic Renaissance that they have going for them and don’t let Disney buy them out and ruin that.

It was Paramount who fixed the first character design of Movie Sonic, but I have heard that SEGA was along with us of who was telling that studio to fix that awful design up so that that character would look more like his videogame counterpart. Anyways, I think that it's very unlikely that SEGA would agree on merging with Disney especially because of the lying and screen-stealing cheating stuff that that company has currently been doing to get their garbage cash-grab Mufasa movie, (that no one asked for) to make more money than Sonic 3. That Japanese videogame company wouldn't want to merge with a company that has been easily exposed for a whole bunch of years to be quite corrupt and had also recently done them dirty in this box-office situation. Along with how obvious that every fan worldwide who has heard about this hopefully fake rumor, has been strongly protesting for them to never agree on it if Disney actually does try to merge with them. I've also heard that there's some rules in Japan that make buying that company be an illegal thing for Disney to do, so Disney pretty much isn't even allowed to do it.

Atlus is a company owned by Sega, Atlus has had non-stop success since they released Persona 5 in 2016 and had their most successful year ever in 2024 with Persona 3 reload, Metaphor Refantazio, SMT 5 Vengeance, and Persona 5 the Phantom X, the first 3 all sold over 1 million in a few days and P5X is a successful Japanese gacha game, that combined with the Sonic movies and frontiers and sonic x shadow gens, i don't think sega has any money problems
