Give The Magnificent, from the same pair of developers, a try. I believe it is the spiritual successor to this game and, in my opinion, it's great as well.

I liked this game quite a bit (specially the player board) but got rid of it after several plays. I found my self doing mostly the same thing in every game.

Another great review. Glad you review games with mechanics you favor heavily. As they align well with my tastes, it makes for an easy nod in a potential purchase. Luckily, I own Santa Maria. Otherwise, it would have been another wishlist game to hunt down.

Hello, I have just watched your Meadow review which I already have but still not played. If I may recall this Santa Maria review for which I got interested in: Is still one of your favourites or has it been surpassed by any other novelty in the same vane/weight such as Magnificent or other similar game you can mention? Do you think it plays well at two? Thank you!

I still love Santa Maria and still own it. It plays perfectly well with 2.

This one has been on my radar as of late. How does the solo version play? Is it worth it playing solo? I love dice drafting as well.

I am yet to try the solo mode so I can't tell you unfortunately.

The only thing that bothers me in your reviews is that all of them end up praising the game. Every time it's a solid, entertaining game, fantastic one that you really enjoyed. I am waiting for more criticism, for a negative review.

I vet the games I play quite carefully before I buy them so I tend to play things that I think I will enjoy. I'm not going to spend my own money on games I don't think I'll like. I've played 90 new games or so this year so far, less than half half received my shield of quality (7+ rating).

@@ChairmanoftheBoard I understand and I expected that that was the reason; therefore for me it's more like "Why I like this game" instead of review as it's quite predictable
