Tommie Kunst Junior High School in Santa Maria now has 15 new instruments thanks to a recent grant from the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation, which was inspired by the popular 1995 movie that starred Richard Dreyfuss.

why no Bari saxes in that band

Elijah Valdivia At their level that’s really unnecessary to even have. Especially with how much they cost. That’s like giving a beginner flute a piccolo immediately or giving a beginner clarinet a bass or contrasbass. It’s not really needed till they’re in high school and theirs more options for instruments.

Contrabass isn't even a elementary instrument

Elijah Valdivia That’s what I’m saying. Neither is a bass, or a Bari sax. Elementary instruments are the most common/basic beginner instruments.

Elijah Valdivia Than your school is the only school I’ve ever seen with a Bari sax so early on.
