Jimmy Gunawan You think so?
@JimmyGunawanX7 жыл бұрын
MultiTechnoDog Yes, our brain is easily tricked. Try shooting 60 fps 4K, then ise app like 8 mm, chop the quality into 24 fps, add film grades, noise, lens simulation, maybe flickers sound... and voila, nostalgic feeling.
@Dezdirectz7 жыл бұрын
Jimmy Gunawan So your basically saying film can be easily duplicated in software without the need of a super 8 camera. But some will say it's not like the real thing (Super 8)

Hey, could you help me out? I just bought a canon 814 model. Before I start shooting, I want to learn more about how to actually use it. Are you able to pause and resume shooting again? So you can capture different things at different times? Or do you have to shoot straight through until your cartridge is used up?

@eladbari8 жыл бұрын
Pro8mm? You need to sell a lung in the black market to scan & process Super8 film there. Gosh, even film cartidges there cost twice as much as an original Kodak Vision3. it's like 50$ a pop! :\
@Videoneer8 жыл бұрын
well yeah. All film is expensive. If you think about it, 16mm is WAY more expensive and the cost of the pro8 film includes free processing.
@eladbari8 жыл бұрын
RET80 Wait, what? Ok, lets clear out some things, my friend :] 1. You wanna tell me that if I buy a 45$-50$ Super8 cartdige from Pro8mm store- then this price is already including free processing when I ship it back to them?! If that's true, then I will totally reconsider them [even though it's like their custom film cartidge, and I, for some reason, just like better the thought of using a Kodak Vision3 film..]. 2. Actually, I just read somewhere that 16mm price is actually cheaper than 8mm, since you get more foot of film with 16mm, so when you do the calculation- it's actually cheaper! sounded weird to me at first, but, hey! worth doing a research about that :]
@Videoneer8 жыл бұрын
Hey - do what you want man, if you want to correct me, be my guest. I'm just stating that I enjoy their goods and services. I've been using them since 2006 and I enjoy what they produce for me. As for their cartridges, they are Pro8mm cartridges but they are 're-branded' so-to-speak. It will say 'Pro8mm' on them, but it's still Kodak Vision 3 500t or whichever you choose. They'll mention it if you call them. Here's the link for their stocks: www.pro8mm.com/super-8-film-stocks/ You'll see that they do indeed sell Vision 3 and also Fuji Eterna. Their stock prices are $45 which includes processing which is great. NOW That doesn't include telecine. That's an additional cost. They will develop it only. I believe their telecine cost is $99 an hour. What I'll do is shoot 3-4 cartridges, and some 16mm stock too and just give it all to them at the same time so the cost per roll is cheaper because they can process 2-3 rolls (roughly) in an hour. Speaking of 16mm... 16mm isn't cheaper. From where I get it. For example: www.pro8mm.com/Merchant5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=01&Category_Code=16flm You'll notice that for 100ft of Super 16mm it's actually $70, albeit it also includes processing too. Here's some stock all by itself, from a vendor here in Hollywood (Spectra) and yet, still more expensive than Super 8 with processing... www.spectrafilmandvideo.com/Film.html the rule of thumb is, the bigger the gauge of film, the more expensive it will be, hence why Super 8mm was so tantalizing. It's a small gauge, cheap and still (with a decent camera) you can get a nice film look. Try 4k scanning too, it's GORGEOUS! :)
@GuyBodart7 жыл бұрын
16mm is $130.00 for 10mn. Super8 between $100 to$160.00 for 10min. Depends where you buy film.
