Venice still has a ways to go, but Santa Monica is much more proactive and seems to be making good progress.

The backdrop to the first video is reason enough why so many people think Santa Monica/Venice is such a great place to visit/live: A beautiful sunset w/palm trees silhouetted against it. When I visited in March of 2017, I loved to walk around the beach in the early morning especially with that early morning fog. It was quite pleasant. I don't know if I could live there but would definitely like to visit again.
