Justify won 1st race sprinting, 2nd race mile routing 3rd race stakes race. Authentic same pattern here. Won with plenty in the tank, does need a bit more seasoning. Now watch Justify's 2nd race, mile alowence, very similar won on the lead, geared down. Now next races stakes race as Justify went into the Santa Anita Derby, and you know the rest........ There are some similar patterns that Baffert is applying here as used with Justify! Not yet saying this horse is Justify Jr. But there is no doubt we have not seen nearly this horses best yet. We will get a better idea after his next start this Saturday when he gets tested for class. Only needs to improve and not have a troubled start/ trip and we may be looking at the next top three year old in the country! If he wins this Saturday next stop, probably one more prep race before the Santa Antia Derby or Arkansas Derby? And if wins.... Can we say Kentucky Derby....... Shades of Justify. Go Authentic!

Very impressive win. How does his pedigree look for 1 1/4 miles?
@OfficialMuffiin4 жыл бұрын
He has an impressive pedigree, yet it screams more sprint than classic distance to me. He's out of a mare that had a lackluster racing career, yet his damsire was a pretty good sprinter, finishing second in the 95' Breeders Cup Sprint, and was a multiple graded stakes winner. He's by Into Mischief, one of the top sires in the world, yet he himself never ran at classic distance. He has good breeding in him, I hope he can run classic distance, would love to see him in the Triple Crown races.

Obviously talented - very talented. But have to see him in a real dog fight - at least not literally coasting on the lead - and then going onto win. Also, the "antics" were not minor. This horse looked super green down the stretch and they were lucky no one was to the inside and just behind him at the time he ducked in. Baffert and his staff will fix this - but the biggest issue is can he run fast for a 1/ 1/4?

@@warrenmeltzer4892 lol his time was bad partially because of his antics in the stretch, which were due to him being spooked by the crowd, which isn't that crazy for a horse on his second start. He will improve and you should draw a line through this time buddy

I tend to agree Perry. He obviously has a lot of talent but he is going to get severely tested down the road and he is going to have to run much faster. The antics would be a big concern for any trainer that has a horse that runs that erratically down the stretch. There are going to be far bigger crowds, much more noise, and a lot of other shit going on around him when he is actually challenged. And he will be challenged. I like him a lot though.

It wasn't so much that he led the whole way with another gear coming for home: it's that his ears were pricked the whole time when everyone else's were laid back, a clear sign that this is a standout horse who has a lot more energy left in him. How much more is the question, but this is a legit Derby horse right here. I think I might've finally found my early favorite. :D

Times posted shows a slow race. Can he do better than win a bunch of losers? He's a three years old, had all year to train. By now all 3yo already won races. This horse is way late. Baffert is a master in choosing weak races for his "paper stars". Let's see what he will do in next race. I bet he will lose.

@@dicktater8813 there is a big difference in finding soft spots for horses to give them and the owners confidence - and running in serious prep races and then the Triple Crown races.
